The money we’ve spent over the last couple years is irrelevant, it wasn’t invested by Brands/Silva!! The money invested by these two so far have been hits. This time next year is the right time to judge him when he will have his players. Hopefully next seasons team won’t have a Coleman/DCL/Walcott/ in it.

Yes the chump got us to 8th place. Not sure Silva will manage that. And dont tell me the football is much better now. The only difference is you dont like Allardice(rightly so) But that doesnt make Silva a good manger. So far i have seen nothing. I hope it will change. The hope never dies.

Allardyce getting us to 8th was a total fluke as we were 19th in the league that season for chances created, Silva certainly has us doing better than that. As for Silva though, you are perfectly right to not be happy with the results, I'm not myself, I think we have the 7th best team in the league and I expect us to finish 7th comfortably. If we don't, then he's under-achieved in my eyes.

However the main point from my previous post was that we simply cannot keep sacking managers that don't get us off to a perfect start. Liverpool finished 8th in Klopps first season (granted he didn't start the season) but he still had plenty of time to get them higher up and couldn't. They believed in him though and unfortunately that looks like it's going to pay dividends this season.

I'm not saying what's happened to the RS will happen to us but Silva needs to be given every opportunity to succeed here and should only be dismissed when it becomes clear he cannot improve us. He certainly deserves another summer to help mould this team in my eyes.

We are about where we should expect to be in the region of 8th to 10th with a new manager introducing new players and a very different playing style.

I would hope that in the second half of the season we will improve to secure a seventh or eight place and we really cannot do better than that this year.

Next season I think we will still Pickford,Digne, Minna,Richarlison,Bernard and probably Keane as vital parts of the team, maybe Gomes and Zouma as well but I would be slow to predict the same for many others which means that we could easily see three or four new players coming in as part of a new team.

1. Play your best team, every time.

2. Don't change a winning team.

The above two are as valid now as they were decades ago. Man Citeh have fallen foul of the above this season - WTF is Delph doing getting a game there (for example)? You can add Mahrez to that. On the pitch ahead of Sane & Jesus...?

The people who want him sacked are the equivalent of the City fans and Liverpool fans that wanted Pep and Klopp out.

*waits*

Quite apart from the fact that Silva has done absolutely nowt to have his name mentioned in the same sentence as Klopp and, especially, Pep......who and where are these Citizens and Kopites to whom you refer?

:)

Mahrez is the one that gets me.

As @davek often says, he looks totally out of place in that City team.

Yet apparently he has made more appearances than any other City player this season :(

Standard C given the mess Martinez left added to the ballooning wage bill of Koeman and standard of football from Fat Sam. Marco is going his best with what he has.

Team performances have vastly improved and unlucky not to have additional points from winning positions added to silly home draws.

Transfers have been excellent. All have added to the starting lineup so hopefully he can add in January also.

Managerial skills has been very hit and miss with inconsistent lineups and players such as Coleman and Walcott not dropped due to form but team seem to be gelling and the bad eggs just shifted on early on in the season.

Tactically we have been a bit too gung-ho against better opposition but too negative against lesser teams. Too much changing winning teams and very late to change the game with substitutions.

Given the fixture he was handed mostly top 6 teams away from home I'd say we should only 6th-7th this season and depending on how our January Transfer Window goes, a cup run please!

For now: Marco Silva's Blue and White Army!

Because Delph fits in to several positions. Mendy is injured so Delph plays at left-back. Delph was just as key in them winning the league last year as anyone else.

Mahrez has played in the main because when Mendy was fit, Sane wasn't playing, as Pep doesn't like those two players playing together as they both want to do the same thing, so Sterling played on the left.

We are getting what we aid for. We hired a manager with a track record of, either getting clubs relegated or struggling in the bottom half of the league (just as we did with Martinez). It should come as no surprise to anyone that we are not very good. Silva hasn't got it and we need to get rid and either hire a manager with a proven track record or an up and coming manager with potential (who hasn't already failed at the top level).
