Not only did Sam accomplish what he was brought in to do but we never gave him a chance once he did it. The only thing weird about Sam's tenure was the ingratitude by a section of the fanbase and Moshiri not being man enough to rise above it
Ingratitude - was Sam doing the job for free? Why should I feel grateful for watching awful defensive football every single week?

My proudest moment here...a young Portugese guy, first job in the country, hardly spoke a word of English, but he came to me and he went 'Mr Kenwright, will you be the Godfather to my child?' Didn't happen in the end. We had to let him go, he was rubbish.

HE WAS RUBBBBISH

I dunno lads.

Hard to judge reactions from strangers on a keyboard.

This is how I sort of perceived fans reactions to new managers since Moyes left.

9/10 were in favour of Roberto. At the end 9/10 wanted him out.

8/10 were in favour of Koeman. At the end 10/10 wanted him out.

5/10 were in favour of Big Sam. At the end 10/10 wanted him out. For killing football mostly.

7/10 were in favour of Marco Silva. At the end it seems 10/10 wanted him out.

As time goes on, we seem to move away from a 'fans choice'.
This might be because we are so divided and in some cases fickle, that finding the ideal manager has become impossible.

Spending multi-millions has proven irrelevant. Mainly because we have overpaid and looked like a bunch of mugs in the transfer market.

Moyes and Roberto could not have dreamed of the sort of money we have spent since they left.
I will admit to not knowing who the right man is anymore, but I am sure as hell there are a lot of wrong ones.

The last 7 years should have been about breaking that top group and staying there.
We have gone backwards, playing substandard footy and a squad full of mercenaries. So it seems.

Survive this season. Shrug it off and yet another period or rebuilding ahead. FFS.
Thanks for nothing Marco.

Just my view lads.

Shut up lad, any manager could have sleep walked us into the top 10 given the relatively poor quality of the league around us at the time. Just had to win home games against anyone but the top 6.

Granted, Allardyce did indeed do what he was brought into do, but surrendering games before they even began against better opposition is unforgivable. We still had opportunities to push for Europe that season yet he continuously bottled away games.

He’s an odious man who’s a stain on this great club’s history.
