There must have been more going on there that we aren’t privy to. Can see why Kean would want to go but from an Everton perspective, there is no rational footballing argument for letting him go and not replacing him.

Whatever the reason, you’re right, looked like leaving us in a much weaker position at the time and sure enough it has.

I rate DoF out of 10 for every summer window. 2018 was a 7. 2019 was a 2. 2020 was a 9. That makes it 18/30, or 6/10 overall.

I'd give him another deal because he's working with Ancelotti now and seems to cleared out most of the mess he inherited, even if he has created a few new ones himself. Iwobi was an awful bit of business, Kean didn't work and Delph has just been a waste of time. I want to see if he'll learn from his mistakes.

It's a ridiculous role, probably invented by a chief scout with a huge ego who went to the owner and convinced the owner to give him more wages.
It's not needed especially when you have Carlo in charge who can identify a good player and a director like Sasha can sort the details. It really doesn't need a specialist to phone a club and ask how much to buy a player

Needs to be targeting players with pace and power. Godfrey Doucoure and Nkonkou are steps in the right direction. Sunday showed that it doesn’t matter how good your players are, if you’re not quick enough to recover the ball then you can’t get possession .
