Swap Ole with Emery, United comfortably win that game.

Ole is not a bad manager, he’s not good enough to be bad manager.

A manager manages (good or bad), he does neither. Villarreal made half a dozen changes from the mid point of the second half in order to half fresh legs to keep up with the pace of the game. While Emery could see what was happening, Ole sat on his backside and did nowt until extra time, by which time United were knackered and more than half the Villarreal team were fresh. The result was Villarreal controlled that extra time period and easily managed to get to penalties which was their aim. A competent manager would never have allowed them to get a grip of that game. I had no idea about De Gea’s record on pens (25 without saving one stretching back to 2016) so there’s more incompetence from Ole in not bringing on Henderson who saved 8 of the last 17 he faced.
I was amazed at how active Emery was on the sidelines. He was kicking every ball, and he clearly has a deep tactical understanding. Arsenal were mugs to sack him without backing him properly.

I think he blew it, United were the better team in the second half, but no subs, just drifted through extra time. Legs were gone, Villareal freshened up and should have won the tie before penalties.

Too passive, let the game get away from him.
Yeah i agree with that the subs thing was a bit bizzare , i remember in the semi final last year against Seville he waited till 87 minutes to make a change and we were 2-1 down and last night again 100 mins before a sub

Yeah like i say pump up the rumours and this is what happens , the parasites in charge wont fork out big dough unless they are worried about their own survival
To be fair they have forked out £1.156 billion (gross spend) on players since Ferguson left.
So whats another £250 - £300 million? As you say it will keep the fans off the Glazer's backs for a
while until things calm down.

They have not forked anything out of their own money , plus they have taken out over a bilion out of the club , United have recouped some money from sales
