Operating without a coach.

Absolutely no method to their play. Just a group of individuals with United hoping one of them produces something.

It’s insane Solskjaer is where he is.

I think any manager can have a good spell/bad spell.... but I think the Cardiff job, and how miserably he failed in it, was enough of an indicator to suggest he’s not a good manager.

Hes got an abundance of talent.

Pogba, Fernandes, Cavani, Rashford, Greenwood... they’re good talents.
Arguably you could give credit to him helping Shaw, but they’re not playing for him. You’re 100% right out.

They should on paper win trophies, not blow up in the Champions League. He has a losers mentality.

I think that is very unfair. What we need is for Ole to be given a cast-iron contract, 5-years minimum, 10-years ideally, so he can continue to grow into the role and refresh the team through prudent management.

we were not good enough last night in a game we really should have won , Villareal are a good organised team but nothing outstanding about them , the reality is we failed in a big match yet again the team looked tired but still its not a reason to explain the defeat , we lacked aggression and were ponderous especially in extra time

Fully endorse this message.

Apparently he’s on the verge of a bumper new deal. You couldn’t make it up.

On the face of it finishing second you could argue (if you were naive enough) that he’s done a good job league wise. But the truth is it’s a completely skewed season with games almost exclusively played behind closed doors, a season that barely had a pre season of any note hence the number of injuries (especially soft tissue) as well as the decline in running numbers per game which affected teams ability to press/close down. Games were much slower, less intense, and with zero atmosphere play was much more sterile.

Next season (not that he should get it) will be a much better test.

Hahhaha they’re so entitled they thought they’d just show up and it would be given to them. Imagine wanting to start a European Super League when you can’t win the Europa League lol
If City win the champions league as I expect them to do comfortably it will mean that they will be the only team of the super league six to actually win a trophy this season.

Swap Ole with Emery, United comfortably win that game.

Ole is not a bad manager, he’s not good enough to be bad manager.

A manager manages (good or bad), he does neither. Villarreal made half a dozen changes from the mid point of the second half in order to half fresh legs to keep up with the pace of the game. While Emery could see what was happening, Ole sat on his backside and did nowt until extra time, by which time United were knackered and more than half the Villarreal team were fresh. The result was Villarreal controlled that extra time period and easily managed to get to penalties which was their aim. A competent manager would never have allowed them to get a grip of that game. I had no idea about De Gea’s record on pens (25 without saving one stretching back to 2016) so there’s more incompetence from Ole in not bringing on Henderson who saved 8 of the last 17 he faced.
