Must really suck being a City fan, no one takes you serious as a rival and not even in your own city, United cheering them to beat the RS to the title, and the RS fans cheering City to beat United to title. They are like Torino, Espanyol, 1860 Munich where the other team in the city they share has a bigger rival who they hate more in another city.

I mean, United sing songs about them most weeks, and have had to watch them rack up title after title, so I would imagine there is a fair bit of rivalry. It's a bit silly to compare City to 1860 Munich or Espanyol.

As for hoping City beat Liverpool, I think it's more that the more majority of football can objectively see Liverpool and their fans are a racist club with a rancid racist fanbase, very much like Millwall. I'd say it's more a comment on that, the continual jibes about the Munich disaster, the racist abuse of Patrice Evra etc that have motivated such sentiment, as opposed to any percieved lack rivalry with City. Didn't United have that "only racists walk alone" banner as well?

It’s a good comparison.

The oil tag has been a factor in teams not taking their success as serious, but it’s true City aren’t anyone’s biggest rival.

You had RS cheering us (Everton) vs United in the ‘95 cup final, you had United fans cheering City vs the RS in the league title run ins (‘14 and ‘19). Any local rivalry goes out the window when the opposition is either the RS or United.

In 1985 the rs were cheering Utd in the final as they didnt want us to do the double( in was massive back then)before them. Was on the kop the following season and the were singing about Whiteside putting the ball in the Everton net.

Theyll get Kane next year and tussle with city for the title. Kane wants to go to United and be the main man. Suspecting they sell one of Martial and Rashford.

If we think they get a lot of penalties now what will it be like if Kane goes there?
It will get completely ridiculous!
Yeah i was saying to a friend last night.

Be ridiculous, i saw a stat online that said since the restart of football last season they have averaged a penalty every 3 games.

They won't sell Rashford he is the latest poster boy.
I can see Martial being moved on though.
United are going to finish a minimum of 13 points behind City this year.
Would Kane win them an additional 13 points next year?
I honestly don't know the answer to that.
