Both clubs piss very much into the same pot.
Both scab 6 founder members, Yank owners, global fan bases of absolute bell ends, media darlings.
Wished you had both fkuced off to the ESL and played in your own cauldrons of self entitlement, superiority and media wankfests.
Your clubs are nothing but franchise rivals. Faux hatred that the fans lap up, but in reality they are working in tandem. This has pretty much been played out by project 'big picture', the European super League and the coordinated statements put out by both clubs.
It isn't even a new phenomenon with American owners and the failed super League either. Look at sky, with Neville and carragher acting as the "rivals". It has been a pantomime rivalry since the premier League was created.

The so called famous 'rivalry' only goes back to the mid eighties when City were crap and not in the 1st Division so United didn't have any local rivals to play. SKY jumped on the bandwagon and hey presto! A lifelong rivalry was created. It's all manufactured.
