Typical Everton performance to be fair. When everyone is strict and right and we take our chances there's always a chance of getting something out of games like them.

Im not gonna change my opinion of this season and Moyes so far in it because to say we "played" well isnt true. We defended and grabbed a win like old times.

Happy mood....but boxing day is where we see what we're made of.

Spot on. The result was fantastic, the commitment from the lads amazing - the method and performance? Not so much.

F*cking brilliant result.

Loving the lads at the end - Neville, Howard and Cahill - looking like we'd won the cup. Massive moment for them. I don't think those boys like City much.

This as well. Great team spirit there.

So glad for the fans who went.

Is it just me or did we take our usual match script ant REVERSE roles? We make 2 goals out of our first two chances while our opponent dominates possession makes a plethora of chances and corner kicks but can't put any of them away. Feels pretty ******* good!!:P

Good point actually. The complete opposite of what we've done most of the season!

Grow up!!!

I'm not anti Blue at all, I backed the lads all game - I just didn't like the way Moyes went about it again today.

Great result thanks to heroic performances up and down the pitch, despite Moyes.

I can't complain when we up two at half... I am a sarcastic poster.. I should have posted losts of smileys :P

I was trying to find the posts to quote you on.... Just couldn't... I reread what I posted and it looked like I was attacking you more than I was.. apologies

What a tremendous effort all across the pitch that was! Neville, Distin, Jags, Baines were an absolute defensive masterclass out there. Howard was massive for us as well!

I think everyone across the pitch had a great game defensively. I thought Anichebe was a bit hard done by the sending off, especially since I wouldn't consider the first yellow card to be an actual booking offense. Other than that, he really ran after every ball and tried to close down the defenders, plus his play was really good leading up to the second goal.

Even Saha really put in a solid effort challenging for balls!

What a great match that was! Hopefully this will kick-start our season!

Whoo Hoo!! I just logged on to check the score - have so much work I can't watch the game - and see what we've done!!

COYB!!

I don't care how we played...if we played good or bad (how did we play?).....we won!!

Everyone bitching about ossie, howie, moyes, whatever: Eat it.

This is beautiful. Even Saha did a good job. Billy too. This was frucking STELLAR. Excellent defending. Everybody doing their part. Especially Fellaini was total boss today. Distin, jags, baines also. Unlucky own goal and a little bit of luck from a [Poor language removed] Balotelli & Tevez partnership was all we needed.

Thank you Everton, the love of my life, for a downright strengthening performance. It warms the soul, it really does.

Some City fan on 5 Live reckoned we touched the ball twice and scored twice. He obvs missed the 15 passes or whatever for Baines goal.

Hehe massive overgeneralisation there! We had two shots and scored twice though.

We definitely rode our luck and arguably didn't deserve the win, but given the amount of times this season we've deserved to win and haven't then it's just "balancing out".
