....many referee decisions are subjective but where they aren't it's a no brainer that technology is used to ensure the correct outcome. I think this will also enhance the match experience for supporters. In 20 years time we will look back on these days and wonder why we ever left such decisions to on-field officials.

No he doesn't! Take a look at what you've posted. He is 6 yards away from the goalline! He has, at best, an angled view from about 40 yards on a flat surface. Atkinson is roughly 19 yards away. The real crime is the space given to those two City players advancing on the central edge of our penalty area. Our defenders guilty of 'ball-watching'...

No mate, he has a view that includes the space between the posts and six yard line, and he's looking right at the play. Yes, from 40 yards, but it's a bright yellow ball against a blue background and a white line on the pitch.

As for Atkinson, he can clearly see there the ball and the line.

Thing is, I've not really got a massive issue with being subjective - like a free-kick or penalty - while annoying, is really opinion. That decision last night is clear cut though, and it's where tech (along with offsides) needs to be brought in. It would have taken about 2 seconds to rule out that goal. 2 seconds.

From where Atkinson is there, he HAS to be able to see it. Has to.

That's why I'm not blaming Martinez for last night mate.

It changed the game entirely.

I know we were hanging on at that point, and had rode our luck, but for the past 5 mins before that we had regained some composure and were looking solid (all things considered) as much as you can do against City away.

That was the sucker punch, and we didn't have the steel to come back from it and City had the quality to take advantage of it.

The reason I blame Atkinson is down to this...... football and decisions is about instinct, as Stirling went to cross me and my mates (one of whom supports the [Poor language removed]) and a couple of others shouted thats out laughed at Sterling etc.......

instinct said that looks out and low and behold it was, then you check to see if Atkinson could see it and yes yes he could no obstructed view so no reason not to make the call everyone could see.

As the poster above says also we were holding our own, Kone had held a couple of balls up well and a bit of pressure was relieving

My view from last night, now that emotions have settled.

Line ups - At the time not to surprised. However subbing Coleman on at 77 minutes, meant he could have played 45 mins if it went to Extra Time. If he was that match fit I would rather had Coleman on from the start with a view of swapping him later on.

Barkley's Goal - Great drive, great goal. Mori tackle in lead up could have been given a foul, but still had so much to do.
Deflected Goal - Unlucky? I don't think so. Why Baines goes down onto one knee im still not sure. This was the third deflected goal conceded in the last 3 matches. Are we not Closing down quickly enough? Why are they get chances to shoot?
De Bruyne Goal - Yes it went out, but you play to the whistle. Barry was just ball watching and could have easily got the ball if he was running back as should have
Aguero Goal - It was a good goal. Possibly offside but very hard for officials to see that. Stones probably could have done better to be closer, but he had only just got back in position and hadn't had chance to look around to see where everyone was.

Subs - Found very surprising, Again making two subs at 60 mins didn't leave much if we did go into extra time.

Game Management - Start Well, but like most of this season, RM hasn't made right subs. Can't think of main games where the subs have made a difference (with the exception of Naismiths Hat-trick against Chelsea - but that was a force sub, not a game management sub)

Since we've had replay working in other sports already for 20 years I'm not sure why we have to wait that long ... oh right ... FA/FIFA/UEFA ... nevermind.

Still think the subs were awful and brought nothing to the game!! Lennon and McCarthy fair enough but Kone gave no pace for a counter at all no point

The thing is tactically he brought Kone on and rather that sticking to the right wing ie directly replacing deulefeu, Kone wandered everywhere across the park but rarely on the right wing and so instantly we became totally lobsided and far easier to defend against if we were only attacking using 65% of the pitch width.
