Errr... Rom has scored the majority of goals this season when Kone has been on the pitch. Del lost his head after missing that sitter and started doing his diving and giving away easy possession. He looked knackered and was being marked out of the game.

Lennon was probably the better solution, but I didn't mind Kone coming on.
Think Rom has had more assists from Del than Kone, as knackered as Del appeared to be he was always capable of that little bit genious that can turn a game.
So for me, Martinez should never had replaced him. It should have been Miralles for Cleverly.

Was working so couldn't watch the game tonight, was del going off a foolish move? Seemed like our best chance of a goal late in!

Del going off is always a foolish move, IMO.

And if he must go off, I would gave replaced him with Lennon.

Kone continually got one and one with their full back but whilst he was hard to get off the ball, he had neither the speed nor the skill to get around him and create sommat the way Lennon might have.

Martinez has to put Robles in. That's the main thing that's getting on my nerves with him.

If our poor league form continues I solely believe it will be down to that.

Tonight, in a semi-final at the Etihad, it's a one off. If we lost tonight, no matter what he did, Martinez was always gonna be attacked by the ones dead set on getting him out.

If he had gone all out attack, he'd have been called naive for thinking we could do that.

He chose to try and soak up pressure and play them on the counter - but he was too defensive and should have known it would never work (even though it would have, if not for the officials).

I'll need some time to work that one out.

Mirallas was injured and not in the sqaud, mate.

...not sure where to start with this post really. So, let's just go from the top eh...

* Yep, picks the side, the players play to his instruction.
** There it is, the GOLDEN EGG eh....makes you wonder why we're simply not appealing. Grim really.
***Roberto's limited resources haven't really been that limited. (How much was ROM?) Hardly a 'shoestring' is it?
**** What more perspective is needed mate? The figures/stats/the worrying previous are all there to see.
***** How long can 'two or three players away' be used as an excuse?
****** Thought that's what he was doing anyway, I mean, that's what he keeps saying, yes? So it'd start again you say? Why, because the 'assets' will have jibbed the mediocrity of BOB in favour of something other than this?

Actually, y'know what mate, that reads like I'm having a bad, nasty kinda pop at you. Really, I'm not, do forgive. It's just....y'know....Pfffff.

Yes, the assets will have walked. I'm just not putting all the blame on Martinez. And one class player in Rom (or even three in Mores and Deulofeu) hardly equate to a team like City who can afford that quality all across the park. So yes, Roberto has had his hands tied, and in the end it comes down to money. I know we've had a bad run of results, and i accept that Roberto needs to work on his defensive game (or better still, get a defensive coach in), but it's FAR too easy (and simplistic) to put all the blame on the manager. Personally, i believe we'll pick up a few places in the table before the end of the season: still not good enough, of course, but something to build on, IF we have the money. So, over to our Chairman: how's the deal working out, Bill? (hopefully not as badly as all the others over the past ten years or more).

And for the record: i have an enormous amount of respect for Bill Kenwright, and the passion he's shown for the Club. But that passion is now working against us, because in the final analysis, i don't think he can let go, even though in his heart he must know that only a big injection of cash is going to take us to the next level. That in itself is very sad, but that's the state of today's game. And if it's not done before the end of this season then we lose the best squad we've had in years).
