I watched the news till 1.30 this morning in blissful ignorance that one of my sons was there !. He'd texted my wife earlier to say he was ok but she was asleep. My thoughts this morning with the victims families.
My son got out alive but one of his mates was identified tonight " a body was found with his i.d. in the pocket". God bless him and his family and all others involved.

Haven't read through all the posts so sorry if this has been posted
Firstly my sympathies to all the families affected by this horrendous act of cowardice.
Secondly I just seen that YaYa Toure and his agent have promised 100,00 pounds to the families.
Would it be a good idea if every member of the first team squads of both Manchester teams offered to donate a weeks wages to the families.
Even better if the Govermnent offered to waive income tax on that weeks wages.
How would one even propose such an idea
Whilst it's a nice sentiment I don't think that is necessary to demand this of professional sports people because they play for the club in the city of the attrocity.

A lad in my year at school, Martyn Hett, confirmed to be one of the dead

We were never close mates or anything, but I feel a real sense of sadness knowing he's passed away

He wouldn't have hurt a fly and truly embraced life

Thoughts with his friends and family right now
We're talking about the same lad Mikey, very sad news.
