We have faced the best the league has to offer, our peers shall we say.

2-3 Villa
0-0 Chelski
1-1 RS
1-1 Arse
1-0 Utd

We have gave a good account of ourselfs and for a bit of luck we could have taken a lot more points.

I thought we played well first half, kept Utd at bay and the link up play between Pienaar and Baines was top class. Arteta and Neville did well in midfield and gave us something to build on.

The goal killed us though, after that we ran out of ideas despite seeing alot of the ball and having lots of control. Its expected when you have Fellaini and Cahill upfront. They are good with there backs to the goal and they win headers but they don't offer much outlet in terms of running the channels or trying to get in behind. It's quite obvious that we need a striker.

I thought Osman was really dissapointing, he just doesnt do it consistently outwide. Solid central midfielder but I'd much rather see someone like Gosling or Anichebe outwide, someone who can give us something different.

I'm chuffed about the composure and control in our play though, against lesser sides I have no doubts we'll brush them aside. Having two central midfielders (Arteta and Neville) who want the ball and look for the ball is key. Baines has been a breath of fresh air and Cahill's doing a great job upfront.

It makes a hell of a difference when your poorer players play well doesn't it. Knowing that Hibbert and Neville in particular aren't going to be complete dogshite gives our performances so much more composure. Neville didn't really play very well yesterday, but he was still decent. Reliability, it's the new flair.

I left the match thinking where's Osman today? Got home and watched the whole thing again on the sky plus and was thinking where's Osman?
I hadn't really picked up on it that much until I read some of you guys forum posts. He's not at the races against the big 4.
Having said that, I thought we gave a good account of ourselves on the whole even though there were a lot of tired legs wearing blue shirts. Manure looked fresher and a bit sharper, but I think our boys gave 100%.
TC has been brilliant, but he can't keep doing it week in week out, I thought during the game that we really missed having strikers.
However, we wont worry about this game when we beat the RS on Wednesday!!!!!
Manure can have the league and the league cup, Everton for the FA cup, anybody but RS for champions league...right, I can book my summer holidays now lol

Well said mate, nice post.

I went , and while they didn't really trouble us over-much , we never went for it . No support from midfield runners , side laying 20 yards to deep generally . Missed our best chance to win here in years . I've seen very few trouble ferdinand like Timmy did here , but with no assistance . Shame . L.C.A.B.
