Can't comment on the second half as I lost my stream for most of it. But Everton played well the in the first. Like others have said, not many teams will take anything from the Etihad. So, well played Blues

Osman played well in particularly the first half, was impressed by him today.

Gibson was excellent throughout though. Showing what we missed, he could turn out to be some player.

Hopefully this could be the turning point for our defence.

The defence looks much better with Distin and Jagielka there, Hibbert is tighter too although I'd still like to see Coleman shoved in when he's back.

great performance lads fair play, point was probs fair. it was a pen (doubt it wouldn't have been given if dzeko hadn't have been such a big girl), sadly it was just our luck something that happens so often is given against us and not anyone else. anyway, WBA and arsenal losing at home to lesser teams means, as well as dare i say it (with benitez in charge) chelsea - we've had a decent day.

Fellaini pissed all over yaya toure btw, sadly he was stupid with the peno, but a very pleasing performance (much better than last seasons' attrocious display) to set us up with a big game vs spurs. win that and 5 pts out of spurs, arsenal and man city is pretty good going.

I was the other way, missed the first half.

So as far as this match goes, I watched us get utterly destroyed for 45minutes.

Still, good result for me.

Nah mate. I think it's a combination of a couple of things, we're missing Jelavic being on form and secondly we're just not getting the rub of the green at the moment. It will come though.

We're going our sticky patch with one win in nine. We're still only three points off third so once we click again we could do some good things.

Pleased with that result but still quite gutted they got that penno, can't fault anyones workrate today especially how hard we worked the last 10 minutes to ensure we took a well deserved point.

Well in Everton, hope we smash Spur's ringpiece to bits next week.

Brilliant result for us, was annoyed that we gave away a penalty but we can't complain.
Shocked at how poor City are playing though, we could have won it if our final ball was better.
Looking forward to next weekend now, which they have no Bale either as he's got injured,

Hibbert and Gibson are the reason we look more solid defensively.

A good point as opposed to the bad points that we have been getting to date.

A few thoughts:
Jelavic - Stay on your feet, sometimes I think he spends too much time looking for a foul instead of fighting through and trying to create a chance.

Naismith - Right now plays very limited with the ball at his feet - thinks he makes some really poor touches and decisions. Strikles me as more of a sub when we need a late goal, (a bit like Cahill - Not in the air but a late arriving, ghost into the box player)

Gibson - we are so much better as he can control the ball under pressure and pick out a good pass.

Pinnear - touch appears a bit off past couple games - i think has given the ball away in the middle of the park a bit.

We really need Miralles back - He is so dangerous with the ball at his feet and opens up opportunities for Jela....


but then what do i know - I am just a yank....

Did anyone else think Yaya and Barry kept cynically fouling Pienaar, Oviedo and Osman? Seemed to be blocking off or tripping them up every few minutes in the second half.
