Didn't think it was all that bad, to be honest. Maybe that's because of low expectations in games like this. That's as good as I've seen us keep possession in these end of pre-season games against a team from the continent. Osman had a lovely game in the middle of the park, lots of good pressing and intelligent use of the ball. If Fellaini's going to be pushed further forward he'd be able to slot in there alongside Gibson.

Certain players where definitely shown up though, Hibbert more so than Neville, I thought. A step too far for Tony in terms of technical ability, he looked all over the place. We've got some good footballers but Moyes is still persisting with or two individuals who break down the promising things we are trying to put together.

Brennan I agree and disagree at the same time. We should SLAUGHTER teams in pre season, but if we don't (And I dint know what beating AEK 4-1 is then) then lads, well get some training in.

I think the slow start is partly because we set off trying to avoid relegation. We're defensive and cagey and we don't commit to attacking. Usually we go behind to a defensive blunder and we leave it too late to try and get back in the game. Come November we realise what a poor position we're in and we start to get serious. Once 40 points is in sight we begin playing football.

If we started off the season trying to win the league we'd probably catch a lot of teams cold during the first few months and rack up a good lead, like Newcastle did last year. Unlike them, we have a solid defence to help us ride out the new year dip.

As disappointed as everyone is that we haven't seen anything new I can only hope it is cause Moyes knows how well the "starting 11" can play and he wants that team ready for United.
For all the negatives we still have the exact same team which finished last season and they are still capable of finding the form they had from January onwards and if they do it early who-knows.
Thats the best I can do in the way of optimism.

Its already like Groundhog Day.

I'm bored of the season already.

Or, more to the point, I'm just bored to death of Moyes. Even if I couldn't afford the bestest, shiniest car every year, I'd reach a point where driving the same, trusty old banger would get tedious. I'd just need a change, even if it was in the same price bracket.

Watching our football under Moyes is like driving a Volve Estate for a decade.

Hmm. I hate Neville as much as the next man, but did he play badly last night?

Trouble is mate the honeymoon period is over.

Jelavic's efforts will have been noted ditto Pienaar's revival any surprise element has gone, relying on just 2 players for a cutting edge is easily dealt with and slightly camp.

Watching pre-season shows what we all know, passing is a prelude to nothing or worse, it puts us on the back foot.

We have enough to doss around pretending to compete but I see nothing but a repeat of the last few seasons, sh1t on a stick really.

There's nothing quite like a pre-season friendly defeat to bring out the BU supporting hoards, and their annual pre-season predictions of doom and gloom.
Kipper mk 2,this place lately.

He didn't do much defensively except shuffle around and gesture. I didn't see him making too many tackles or interceptions.

I did see him repeatedly giving the ball away with powderpuff passes, though.

So yeah he wasn't very good.

Bollocks.

Everton are serving up utter tripe and Evertonians aren't happy about it. Sorry if this offends you like.
