I thought he was going to be a good player, i heard some good things about him fro ma person i know who supports Swindon. Also he scored that great goal for the reserves....But he hasnt progressed as much as id expect him to...

Still...as you say, 18 (y)

I've been wondering whats going on with that lad. If his loan isn't working out then we should get him back. He may do better with Irvine at Preston

I think he had a few run-outs with the reserves (or youth?) and also didn't seem to be setting the world on fire according to the local papers. I was wondering if he was injured or carrying an injury...

On a related subject, after getting him back for the rest of the season, a write-up for Crewe said that Paddy Boyle had a nightmare game for them, giving up both goals.

He's struggling for fitness down there it wasn't long ago that Sturrock said he has some kind of condition that is effecting his stamina and not being able to run out for a full 90 minutes. So, it's not that he can't get a game down there he's just having trouble with fitness by the sounds of it.

Edit - found the article: 14 March 08

Meanwhile, Sturrock has revealed that 18-year-old striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has been having fitness problems.

Jutkiewicz was signed on loan from Everton at the start of the January transfer window and will spend the rest of the season at Home Park.

But the last of his five appearances for Argyle came in the 1-0 home defeat by Hull City on February 2, when he was a 78th minute substitute for midfielder Chris Clark.

Jutkiewicz has not featured in any of the last eight games for the Pilgrims.

Sturrock said: "Lukas has had a real problem with certain aspects of his stamina, which has caused us problems.

"It has taken him out of the squad at this minute in time, which has been a real disappointment to me.

"There is something that hits him periodically and we just can't get to the bottom of it."

Jutkiewicz played for Sturrock at Swindon Town last season before moving to Everton last summer.

Argyle reserves are scheduled to play Forest Green Rovers at Home Park in the Pontin's Holidays Combination next Tuesday (2pm).

Agreed. if its not working out for the lad down there find another set-up for him

could be....change of scenery could do him wonders he was scoring for fun in pre-season against some good teams. what's different?

Fitness coaching must be shot to pieces at Argyle.

At the end of the day many youngsters dont live up to their early potential, but as Davey has said in the past, you need to take a few risks in the hope that that youngster will save you a couple of quid down the line. How much did we pay for him? Wasnt it about a million?
