Lukaku

He is the best striker I've ever seen at Everton. I'll be gutted next season when we're stuck with Kone and jelavic.....unless Chelsea make a very bad decision and bill makes a very popular decision....

Really, we need to spend the rest of the season smelting Jelavic and Kone together in an attempt to create a Frankenstein's Monster-esque version of Romelu.

I'd not be at all surprised if Chelsea sell lukaku in the summer. However, whether Everton can afford £20mill + is another matter. Even if we can stump up the fee, he's sure to get offered double the money and champions league elsewhere. I think that much depends on our slim hopes of finishing top 4.

What also may handicap Everton financially is the fact we need a new striker in jan. If lukaku were to get injured/suspended we're in deep trouble!

Don't think we will sign a striker in January tbh. If we did, that would be lakaku's replacement. Jelavic being sold in jan could change that but I think it more likely we'll go with what we'v got till summer when the prices aren't inflated.

Lakaku? Highly unlikely but you just never quite now with Chelsea.

How boss was it when he smashed that free kick, like he was thinking "I'm going for this eff it!" Smashed the free kick, forced a parry from Mignolet, Mirallas done the best thing I've ever seen him do by retrieving it and keeping it in play. Barry, McCarthy, oh my god it falls to Lukaku yeeeessssssssssss!!!
Just smashed it into the net.

The third goal, climbs high above Johnson smashes it into the top corner. This man is a legend.

In a game that seemed to have a bit of everything, Lukaku's header for his second goal reminded me of Everton legend Bob Latchford at his best. His movement towards the near post followed by his bullet header suggests to me that Jose Mourinho has dropped a major clanger by letting the Belgium international leave Chelsea for Goodison, albeit on loan. This young man has a lot more to offer.

Did you know? The 20-year-old has now scored four times against Liverpool; his favourite Premier League opponent.

I don't understand why you've used Garth Crook's words without quoting him. Am I missing something?

He will forever be successful against them as last season he removed Jamie Carraghers Boll'cks & takes to the pitch with 1 in each hand.

...I think his first goal has been really understated. Most team would've tried to launch it back in the box with the goalie out of position but we demonstrated real quality in retaining possession and creating the opening. Fine example of the managers philosophy and the type of players he likes. I'm going to say it again, our boss is boss.
