Lukaku

Their problem is that they're trying to play like Barcelona without Xavi/Iniesta/Messi.

Funnily enough i thought Carra lar got it spot on tonight, saying that Chelsea have gone wrong trying to emulate Barca's passing game instead of playing like the old Mourinho team used to.

I really can't understand much that Carragher says. Its all very well talking on the telly with an accent, it can be a warm thing, but someone should tell him he needs to be understood in the whole of the UK, if not the world. But its probably too late for him. Contract paid up and goodbye when the next high profile player retires and looks for media work.

...?

Tony Cascarino on talksport this morning. Doesnt think Lukaku is good enough for Chelsea and they should buy Benteke in the winter - should have got him in the summer.

He doesnt see Lukaku as a forward for a team that wants to and is capable of winning the PL and CL - for at least a few years...said i think he would do well for a mid table to lower 6 side...

We'll have him tony!

...and the oligarch will say: "no probs Jose. Add it to my bill...what's that in total?...over a billion I've spent?...**** this football lark, think I'll stick to natural gas"

Starting Jelavic when we have Lukaku is mental. Give 65 minutes to a forward who cant score and 25 minutes to one who can - if you're a West Ham fan you're friggin made up with that boneheaded decision.

I hope you'll be consistent & call it as such when Martinez makes exactly that call on Saturday....

I reckon Lukaku will start against Fulham.

Though I'd much rather him start against West Ham, we'll definitely see him come as a sub though IMO.

I cant think of a reason he'd start Jelavic. In fact, if Lukaku wasn't here with us I'd find it difficult to understand why he wouldn't choose Kone ahead of Jelavic for West Ham, tbh.

Yes, I will. As I did when he chose Naismith last match....hold on...

haha, I never read that match thread, but I bet there was some uber fume when the team was announced

Expect the same on Saturday when the Belgian beast is sat next to Gibbo on the bench & Ossie & Jelavic are in the starting XI......

Kone will have just returned from injury, so I certainly can't see him starting. Perhaps Martinez will be bold and start Lukaku, he has done with Barkley.

Just doubt it though.

It'll be another afternoon of watching Jelavic falling on his arse and giving back passes to the GK then.
