Notice the lack of number 8s, numbr 9s and indeed number 10s within the squad, these boys are your bread, butter and a carton of curry. The number 6 is your chips, we have loads of chips.

Starting to see barry fade now due to the fitness required to play so many games In a row. what we really need is for a young player to come through now such as Lundstram so they can both alternate with the below two first choices.

6-- James McCarthy
8-- Ross Barkley

Seems like he would be a perfect box-to-box centre mid. His runs from deep would really trouble yhe opposition as well. Doesnt strike me as a player with the killer pass either, not really a playmaker.

And not a defender neither

And getting back to Lukaku, i just can't see him even trying to bang goals in for us, he's on about Champions League all the time, well he's seen that go up in smoke and i'll bet my bottom dollar that he just farts around with that air of "i'm too good for this club" sulkiness about him from now till the end of the season, my prediction is 5 more goals tops from him

Are you alluding to the defensive side of his game? If so, box-to-box midfielders who are focused more on attack would need a very defence minded partner. Barry and McCarthy spring break to mind and I think of he inproved his defensive positioning he'd be fine.

That could work with the right partner, but I don't think it is his best role.

He's missing experience and chemistry, which won't remain missing for long. His reading/attacking of space between the oppositions midfield and center halves would be limited in a number 8 role.

On the other hand, a quality number 8 behind him would open up his attacking play even more.

When Lukaku goes back to Chelsea he will be expected to play like he is for us (hold up the ball and get other players involved). currently he is not very good at that. He goes missing in games. This is one of the reason Mourinho did not keep him.
The only way we are going to get the best out of Luksku, is get Wingers to make the runs down the channels and cross in the ball, to make chances for him. At times Everton has a Team do not create anything for him.
Lukaku is good running at people, but seems to have lost that part of his game.

We are definitely in need of a playmaker and two strikers . Ross has to become a box to box player lets say our Gerard. He's best when he has a lot of ground infront of him he doesn't have the brain to play number 10 in tight areas where a pass is needed quickly. The strikers is a must do to buy we have not one complete forward without lukaku at the club I would suggest a strong hold up player and then a quick nimble forward for when the game isn't going so well. If we are on a budget I wouldn't mind us buying that ki who is on loan at sunderland he seems to be able to pick a pass

Lukaku is Checkov's gun.

He's loaded and he will go off this weekend, it's inevitable. He'll score this weekend and he'll bag a brace against Arsenal to fire us off to Wembley.
