Lukaku V Kane and Barkley V Alli

It's the blue shirt which distorts it for me.

Love Rom but Kane is superior in most ways for me.
The very nature that many Evertonians were split on Rom till Xmas time this year or so suggests why.
Probably has more to do with his non-Straqualursiness and agent-touting than anything to do with his ability or goalscoring prowess

Kane is probably a better all-rounder, but when you consider he has 5 goals from penalties this season whereas Lukaku has 0, and Kane plays in a good Spurs team, is he anywhere near as clinical? No I hear you say.
Barkley has a different role to Alli, who is more a forward than a midfielder imho, so not really comparing like with like.
I'd have Rom for his clinical finishing and Barkley for his overall contribution and for not being a whopper by putting ROSS on his shirt.

It's 4 not 5. If you deduct the 4 penalties Kane still has a better strike rate per min than Lukaku this season.

Highly debatable if that is even fair though, a couple of those penalty decisions Kane may well have scored from open play if there wasn't a foul in the box.

Sorry, 4 not 5.
The point about it being fair is based on a 100% conversion rate- realistic and did Kane win all 4 pens - I don't know.
As a couple of my fellow posters have pointed out, if our midfield were as strong as yours, Lukaku would have scored more goals.
It's a forum - I'm not going to change my opinion and you're not going to change mine. Agree to differ time I think.

Don't mock learning difficulties
I must be the only person in the world who doesn't rate Kane

Anyone remember him for England at the Euros? Obviously not but I suppose he gets a pass because, well, England

Take off his pens and his record is average

Put him in our team and does he score as many as Rom? I don't think so

Remember also, he's a later bloomer; it was only a couple of years ago he was being sent out on loan to Norwich and Leicester in the Championship while Rom was scoring for fun at West Brom in the Premiership

Rom for me has the better natural attributes - pace, strength, two footed. Kane has work rate on his side but that's about it

Kane also looks and sounds like he has learning difficulties, no offence

I still don't think Ross and Alli is a fair comparison as they have different styles but they did play in similar areas today and for me Ross was spectacular in a failing team while Alli was again less influential than all of the other Tottenham central midfielders in a dominant side. But he scored so everyone will overlook again that he is propped up greatly by the general strength of Spurs midfield play. To me all it takes is a look at his Euro performances to see what happens if he is given responsibility like Ross is every week and it wasn't great

Don't quite know. Lukaku is the more natural striker who basis his game purely on goals. He could get these numbers playing anywhere in any team. Kane gets involved more and contributes more than goals to his team with his hold up play and stuff like that, plus he is one of the purist ball strikers in the world atm. Honestly, if we get Lukaku thes service he needs, he'll make scoring 40 goals a season look like easy work.

This is absolutely not true. There are lots of games where Kane has less touches than almost everyone else on the field for both teams but still scores. Rom also has those games but this season they have been much less frequent. Spurs don't really need him to hold it up though because they dominate teams so regularly

Not much of a surprise here - Spurs fan prefers Kane, and blues prefer Lukaku.

For me, Lukaku is the better player, but let's face it they both appear talented.
