Lukaku V Kane and Barkley V Alli

Going back to Kane - I do believe he could struggle in an average/weak side. Can't be proved of course, just a gut feeling I have.
There is an argument that it has been partially proved when he's played for England. The national team has no-one like Eriksen, Dembele or Lamela and unsurprisingly this means Kane enjoys less in the way of the quality supply he gets in prem games. Most international games are against lower-quality opposition than Kane encounters in the prem every week too.

I messed up on the qualify for Champions League thing Everton finished 5th. My bad.

Everton were still up around 5th/6th for a number of years.

What is this racism accusation I'm getting right now? I don't understand what people are on about?
And in how many of those seasons did Lukaku play for Everton?

I don't think you understand anything Jack. The last 2 years we've finished 11th. I think you've been asleep for 3 years and still think we are in the Moyes era.

I think it's harsh to criticise Kane at international level considering the management regime in place since he made the team.

Wait can somebody fill me in exactly on what I said that could imply any kind of racism?

Getting accused of it is very unsettling for me and I have reread all my posts and see no indication at all. Bang out of order tbh.

Mate lets have the stats right. Lukaku has double figures every season for the last 5 years. In all of them he has 16 + league goals barring 1 (where he got over 20 in all competitions). Look at Kanes last 5 years, not just his last 2 or 3 and you will see he is a million miles away from this level of consistency.

As you said, the numbers speak for themselves. Luck's consistency over a period that we should judge top players (i.e. 5 years not two and a half) is leagues apart from Kane's.

Eh? What the hell? Kane has only had 3 seasons in the PL, and in each of them he has scored 20 + PL goals. How can you even consider Lukaku being a more consistent goal scorer than Kane? Kane is consistency personified. You can't just pick time periods out of thin air, it's like me saying look at Alan Shearer's record over 15 seasons, he scored 300 goals, it's a league apart from Kanes. Well yeah but Kane has only had the opportunity to play 3 PL seasons...

And let's not inflate goal stats with cup goals, PL is what matters here and Lukaku is in Kane's shadow. Not once has he hit 20+ PL goals.....in 5 seasons. Kane has done it 3 times out of 3.

Well it's true, but Wilmots and Martinez are not big name players. To judge players you need to take them out of their familiar zone as well. Lukakus performance at the Euro's and more broadly at international level show why I believe him to be at least on par with Kane (given his performance). Lets put it this way, if tomorrow Lukaku went to Real Madrid and Kane went to Barca, who do you think would travel better?

Lukaku has 19 goals in 54 appearances for Belgium... he has a strike rate on par with his club career one. He had a decent Euros but he does not have a good record overall for Belgium.

I haven't seen any posts regarding that Jack to be honest but what I do find completely unsettling is your total apparent lack of football knowledge.

ffs man go and get yourself a shoot annual and learn some proper stats about clubs. You're making out as if we are bloody Arsenal qualifying for the CL on a regular basis whilst according to you Lukaku has an average scoring record when he scores a goal every 2 games for us.

I'm not criticising Kane, I'm providing context for the weirdos who are arguing he's a better player than Lukaku.

The facts are:

1) Lukaku has more than twice as many assists in the prem than Kane, which torpedoes the suggestion that Kane is better at bringing others into the game;

2) Kane benefits from really, really good squad of players around him laying chances on thick and fast. How many chances did he have today, compared to Lukaku? How many chances did he spurn? How well does he do when playing with less talented midfielders (i.e. when on international duty)?

It's no criticism of Kane to point out he's not as good as Lukaku, the same as it's no criticism of Lukaku to point out he's not as good as Aguero or Ibrahimovic. It's just an honest assessment of where they all are right now. We all know that if Spurs were offered the chance of a straight swap, Kane for Lukaku, they'd jump at the chance... whereas we'd want cash on top.

Kane easily in my opinion.

He scores a whole number of types of goals. His interplay and link up play is very good. He's got superb technique and vision.

Can use both feet, good in the air. Work rate is exceptional.

I think Rom edges him physically in terms of attributes but that's it for me.

I love Rom but Kane is exceptionally talented.

I think your on the wind up here.

You are picking time periods that shut mate, not me. You are picking the last 3 years, when Everton finished 11th twice and then have a new manager.

I am looking at their careers in their entirety. Or a longer time period to judge (i.e. 5 years). Kane has been playing Premier league football for the last 5 years, he just hasn't been playing it very well. He couldn't get a goal or game at Norwich for example, all the while Lukaku was banging in more goals than him.

So yes, lets look at stats. Answer me yes and no. Has Kane score 11+ league goals in each of his 5 seasons in the Premier League? Has Lukaku managed less than 4 goals in at least 2 of the last 5 seasons? Answer these questions honestly, and you will find the answer you are looking for with who's in who's shadows.
