Lukaku OR Jelavic?

Few days ago I was up for giving lakaku a breather and giving jela the start but look what's happened when we'v done that with Barkley! Nah play your best team then take off as required.

Let's not also forget IF someone is ready to take jela and he gets injured could be a deal breaker! If we bring in a better CF in jan there will be better opportunities to rest lakaku.

Think I'd prefered starting Naismith or mirallas up top if lakaku has to have a breather.

i am probably Jelavic's biggest critic but i just have a feeling that he might score if given a chance today -
he looked very hungry against Sunderland and was unlucky not to score with a good header -
if we are going to boss the game Jelavic is my starting choice since he is the better poacher i think-
but if we get bossed i would get Lukaku on as he would be more dangerous on the counter since he is better on the ball and a better striker from distance

Tbh, Zat, if I was Kenwright I'd accept a 10 quid offer for the pair. So I don't think we have to worry about their values depreciating.

Could have injuries not gonin window- salaries need to be paid and no replacements.

Or we dont play them...sell them in jan for a few mil jelavic and heitinga nominal fee or free.

I wouldn't play Rom the full 90 if we can get away with it, he looks goosed and works hard.

Get the game won first though.

It's easy to make theories, but we never tested Jelavic on OT or against Fulham, and then we can't judge him. If he played one half, or even one minute, we could judge his performance.

Don't get me wrong, I love big Romelu and I'm sure he will score 15+ goals for us. But for the moment he needs a rest, and should be mentioned he's doing something wrong at the moment. I just do not get the feeling he does.

It's not a theory though, it's what we have seen in front of us. The lad has absolutely lost his spark, I've said I believe it's because he hasn't got a legwork player with him, shouldn't be starting unless he has one on next to him.

BUT I also believe Lukaku needs a similar player too, for the same reason, to stop him going wide. So you have to ask, do you want a striker who has no physical presence, no power or pace upfront, or someone who even when he's not on the ball, takes two defenders out of the game and is always a threat because of it?

I know which one I want.

Ha you never moved on him mate, tips cap.

Remember when Yak left then tore it up at Blackburn. Think he could do well at WHU till Carroll is fit.

Either way Mrs Martinez didnt raise any fools.

If the rumour about Jagielka being out today is true he's going to need all those smarts.
