Felt this warranted it's own thread.

Who should start vs Southampton?

With games coming thick and fast, does Lukaku need a breather? Inevitably, at Goodison, teams start deep. Lukaku could be a massive impact sub later on.

That, and Jelavic will be right up for it, desperate to get himself noticed for a transfer...

strongest team possible pls, two losses in a row is not an option.

Hence the question- which is the stronger team? One with Lukaku, or one with Jelavic.

Ordinarily, it's Lukaku, but circumstance as above could shine a different light on this one.

Lukaku barely played 90 minutes anywhere before coming to us for good reason.

I'm not sure if Dan is being serious here or not, i can never tell. I wouldn't start Jelavic if my house was on fire.

Lukaku doesn't need a rest, he needs better service. It's telling a lot of our goals are coming from our fullbacks.

Lukaku is going to have to play every game, regardless of how tired he gets.

Watching Jelavic is unbearable.

Lukaku can't dine out forever on the two Derby goals and although I really rate him he's been poor the last few games, I know a lot think it's down to poor service but even his first touch has been sloppy,so maybe a couple of games coming off the bench might benefit him.

Lukaku for me please

I agree Jelavic may well want to put himself in the shop window and what have you, but this to me only means he'll be trying too hard, (as seen with his numerous attempted overhead kicks t'other day), and when someone who's a bit rubbish tries too hard they invariably don't score, end up pulling a hamstring, then we can't even get any money for him.

I repeat, Lukaku please.

Jelavic. He came on and did well against Sunderland, and he should be rewarded for it. I don't want a situation where certain players play regardless of form, and Lukaku is out of form for me.

If he stinks the place out for an hour against Southampton then we have Lukaku on the bench ready to go.

He got more involved but that down to the pattern of the game. Put him in from the start and we'll be toothless.

I'm not denying Lukaku needs a rest but Jelavic is just dreadful, playing right into Southmapton's hands.
