Lukaku OR Jelavic?

I'd rather throw the corner flag on than give that waste of a jersey Jelavic another second on the pitch.

Just sell this abomination asap.

I thInk the corner flag has been getting some really bad press on here lately, put the corner flag on Bobby........

It doesn't matter if Lukaku is scoring as long as the team is. He's a handful and he allows others to prosper around him.

Part of me wants Jelavic to actually be named as a starter again...if only to cure people once and for all of any lingering doubts about how hopeless he is.

Bingo. Jelavic doesn't score but also offers nothing else. Even on a bad day the opposition still have to pay constant attention to Lukaku, and it knackers and wrecks them having to compete with him physically. The last game aside, we've won 3 and drew 1 (Arsenal away) in the games he hadn't scored so the team was still scoring and performing, which is still partly down to Romelu.

I'm staggered by a swell of support for Jelavic starting over Lukaku. It's like a fever has descended after one reversal.

The same people will go missing when the Croatian car crash puts in another error-strewn non-performance.

Jelavic over Lukaku. Not in my world.

Yeah and he scored a bagload the season before that.

It's now December 2013, let's judge him based on his performances now. He showed energy and desire when he came off the bench, unlucky not to score and held the ball up. The debate is to be had.

He had a purple patch of 3 months, since then he's scored something like 7 goals in 45 games. He's spent.

Naismith shows as much energy and desire as Jelavic and he also manages to actually score... we're not talking about playing him up there though. He did nothing of note when he came on except run a bit and bicycle kick all over the show.

Oh and about judging him on 'his performances now', he's not scored for us in 17 appearances. I thought i'd missed a goal when i counted that up because i was amazed his record was that bad.

Would I be made a GOT outcast if I were to say I'd like to see Naismith play upfront? I'd go for him over Jela tbh. Only if we're playing 2 up front mind, no way could he be a lone striker.
