Lukaku Agent: “Something’s changed at Everton”

I think that is the gist of the change in tune from him.

If the club tell them they have a valuation adn they know no-one will pay it then therefore getting rom more money here is in his players interest. If come next season he has added another 30 goals to his tally then the likelely hood of him then being bought as per the valuation would increase. I would imagine the main point of negotiation however would be a release clause put into the contract as it would then shift power back over to the player if indeed a club then matched the clause rather than simply our valuation

Don't think British teams do release clauses so to speak.

British clubs do, any club can. Premier League clubs aren't enforced to put release clauses into contracts so they're not used very often here. A lot of other European leagues enforce a release clause in every contract e.g the La Liga.

Sure they do, suarez for example negotiated the clause into the contract when he knew he would be sought after in the future. Vardy has one, just signed a new contract etc

So yeah, it exists here, makes sense for the player unless you play for them lot.

I never said they aren't allowed haunt they generally don't; sometimes they can be good if the valuation is right, sometimes they're a nightmare. I don't see the need personally.

For the club it is a bad thing unless it is neymar or someone and then the fee is met.

FOr the player it is good because it means they have an escape clause to get out the club, which is why you are seeing it more and more in this country, and always after negotiations following a contract signing.

Hell even fellaini bargained one into his contract did he not?

If we were to put on in then it's going to be £60m+ which leaves him in no better position to leave than he is now. I say £60m and that's possible low-balling it if you go off some of the quoted Spanish and Portuguese release clauses (Porto just slapped €50m euro on an average 27-year old Brazilian defender".

Could well be 60 million yeah. Club does have a say in it and if the agent and player believe they are that good then someone would therefore pay it.

It drops the valuation a tiny bit and potentially then green lights any club in the world to his availability in the future which is perfect for his agent.

Saying all this, he may not get one put in, but to be fair Fellaini had one that we didn't know about until it came to united bidding for him.

£100m and they have to come collect. If not the lad is trapped in his contract. That he signed. With his own hand.

His agent is saying "I know we have been spouting off too much and I regret telling Rom to speak to every newspaper, website and local shaman on Earth in the last year. I regret it mainly because he is not as good as I pretended he was, and Everton would pay me a lot to have him stay there.
"In short, I am a despicable human being".

Didn't Fellaini have a release clause but it had expired by the time United put a bid in and had to pay more

Yes.

But more to the point Arsenal met Suarez's release clause and Liverpool just ignored it and said no anyway. There was no legal challenge, Suarez stayed and went a year later for about £30M more.

What on earth are you talking about?
Genuinely confused but thinking you are saying get rid of Stones, Lukaku, Barkley and get Martin Skrtel who is going to look at RFM and turn him into a sausage?
kind of a joke, that's all. Lukaku, Stones and Barkely are simply not worth the funds they are or will be demanding. Simply moneyball principles. Cf Sevilla. Lukaku has issues as previously explained, Stones is good, but worth more as a transfer than he is here. Barkely should prolly stay, but what if they other two leave ?

My tongue in cheek joke was with Funes Mori, who needs to be as good as he was with Argentina in the Copa with a bunch more attitude. Might be confidence with the EVE system. I know Martin was passed over last season at Liverpool, but he's had a decent Euro and was always a tough guy in the middle, something this team lacks, even when Phil is healthy. When Phil looks at you, you know he's busting his butt out there and wants the same out of you. The Captain. But when Martin looks at you, you don't know whether he's going to shake hands, butt heads or bite your ear, hence my point about the Argentine sausage. Reminds me of Abdullah the Butcher. Same crazy eyes. Just give me two tall tough guys in the middle backline, two guys at left and right who know when to pack the middle and when not and are not continually caught upfield when failed overlaps convert into counters, and someone to get back and effectively double team the ball on the outside when required so this team is not so exposed to crosses. Cf West Ham.
