Lukaku Agent: “Something’s changed at Everton”

Stay on topic please.
It was about our manager, who in turn plays a huge role in Mr Lukaku's staying or going! So it was very much on topic. Who knows, if Mr Koeman didn't like mayo with his chips perhaps Lukaku would be off? Perhaps he is also a chip and mayo fan? Apologies anyway I will try harder.

Hope Riola just Fuchs off and never comes back to football. I honestly believe the man is a skid stain on the footballs calvin kleins.
He is not a 'super agents' he is a scab. Players like Pogba have said they are happy to grow into the complete footballer at their current clubs before making the jump, a matter of minutes later Riola will be seen somewhere running his mouth about Madrid, PSG and Barcelona for example.

Riola is one of those few people I really really despise and I haven't met the guy. Lets hope our Russian assassin director makes a few phone calls the leech.

If an agent isnt selling a player he isn't really getting paid mate.

So will always happen as long as agents exist. Granted they get paid for representing them, but nothing like a 60 million pound transfer being oiled along for a pay day

I don't know for sure, but i'd guess that a player pays an agent a fee to just be their agent. Anything from selling a player and the bonuses associated with that are massive extras.

That's all a guess though.

yeah that is what i mean. As much as getting paid a wage or whatever from the player, they make huge money brokering deals for said player.

So in a way its like any of us really, you may get paid quite well, maybe you dont. But imagine doing something in that job that suddenly gave you like 3 million pounds for essentially what you already do? you would chase that given half the chance to keep doing it, as in representing many players.

Pesonally i hate the idea of agents as they pretty much rule the transfer market now.

That's the thing mate, I do understand were your coming from and agents need to make a living. I wouldn't mind agents making a living in the best interests of their clients but Riola seems to be simply in it for himself, he needs to maintain the 'super agent' tag. The reason for my negative opinion on Riola in particular is because a player will say he is happy, again paul pogba would be happy to give Turin one more year before he is ready to move, yet Riola is running his mouth about Madrid etc....

Closer to home we have Lukaku, everyone can see that Romelu needs to be more consistent over 50 games and not just the first 20. His agent would be better advising him to stay another year and improve his game before a potential world record bid comes in, that way Romelu gets his big move and Riola gets his big payday (another one). Its not all agents but Riola does wind me up for some reason.

Aye that is the issue within the game i agree. the problem is once you get to this level it is hard to find agents who do care about their clients over money. they get the player the most money and then happily take a cut afterwards, it is a horrible way the game has turned for the worst.

these super agents are just essentially nico the greeks running around. Get 10 fingers in 10 pies as much as they can because that is 10 incomes and 10 cuts.

That is why it is nice when every now and again you get agents like Ronaldo for example who essentially become more than just an agent to them. Rare thing to see in this game, hence why lukaku keeps getting sold by his agent every chance he gets.

That's all a guess though.

In other sporting environments, players don't necessarily pay agents to be on their books.

However, if a player tells the agent he wants to move then more often as not, if/when the agent gets a new club lined up, the agent will take a percentage cut from the deal he negotiates on behalf of the player and sometimes/often from the club by way of a 'finders fee'.

If a club enlists an agent to go find a player to fill a specific role, then the agent will take his percentage cut from the deal and sometimes/often from the player especially if the move is massively beneficial to the player financially.

Some sports have tried to stop agents getting a slice of both the player and club pies on the principle that agents should be working for one or the other and not both, but it can be a murky world... and in footie where the numbers are of staggering magnitude, heaven only knows what goes on behind closed doors.

His agent will be looking to make money and getting a big fee for Lukaku will be in his best interest. By saying he could well stay at Everton will put certain clubs on red alert. These clubs will look to talk to the agent and then to the club. HOWEVER Lukaku is ultimately contracted to Everton so it's up to them, not the agent!

At this point with clubs looking increasingly unlikely to cough up £65m for him I would imagine it's more financially beneficial to his agent for him to go after a bumper new deal with Everton.

I think that is the gist of the change in tune from him.

If the club tell them they have a valuation adn they know no-one will pay it then therefore getting rom more money here is in his players interest. If come next season he has added another 30 goals to his tally then the likelely hood of him then being bought as per the valuation would increase. I would imagine the main point of negotiation however would be a release clause put into the contract as it would then shift power back over to the player if indeed a club then matched the clause rather than simply our valuation

There is always the player + cash option if clubs can't afford him outright

Juve have a few good players we could take if Rom wants to go

Like Miralem Pjanic I think is a good player for example
