Its daft- I've been turned down for more jobs than I could count over the years but I dont go on that its because I have a scouse accent.

It may be like who knows or maybe others just interviewed better than me on the day or had a better CV.

Some people think there is a conspiracy in everything.

I think it’s much more healthier to teach black people in places like the UK and USA. That they can ultimately be anything they want to be as long as they work hard and try hard enough for it. Educate them that racism does exist, but this is the minority, and it happens in all races and cultures, and these people are idiots.

Far more healthier than telling them that they live in a society which is dominated by Institutional racism. This gives off the impression to them that most people are racist at the worst and also takes personal responsibility away from them. That every problem they face is not the fault of their own, but of others.

A victim mentality complex is one of the worst personality traits you can impose on a human being. Leading to pessimism, apathy, and helplessness.

Some of the people I know are going, one of whom I was with in India when he met he's girlfriend of about 11 years.
I know for a fact he isn't racist.

I think the 25% of players transferring to 2/92 managers is an issue to be honest . I’m old enough to remember when black players were ‘athletic ‘ or you couldn’t trust black goalkeepers. Issues can be ingrained and it can be something as simple as people not seeing a pathway so not looking to progress .

"Great athletes, tactically naïve" must have been levelled at every African team in the WC for about 20 years.

"Everything is ok black folks! I'm here to tell you that all those things you thought were racism and reported holding you back in society aren't actually a problem. Just leave it to us white folks to tell you when there's a problem that needs adressing."

It's quite probably a waste of potential talent for sure, but as we don't know quite why BAME players aren't taking their coaching badges, it's surely impossible to say it's racism at play. I mean Danny Rose has been on record in the past saying he's not going to bother doing his badges because he thinks its a waste of time. If that's the attitude, how will things ever change? I've just taken a cursory glance at the last few African Cup of Nations finals (last 4), and just 3 of the 8 managers of the finalists were even African, much less from the country they were managing.

I don't know the reason, but just because there's a differential does not mean some form of racism is at play, does it? On the BBC this morning they listed the most valuable players in the world, and all of the top 7 were BAME. Is that some form of race-related issue, or is it simply because they're good players? Nearly 30% of NHS doctors are of Asian ethnicity, yet we're told by Dave that the NHS is racist. Sometimes there are factors, such as the significant cultural appreciation for medicine in Indian culture, that contributes to things, and racism isn't an issue.

it’s not quite the same though is it. Football has a higher BAME representation for players than the country. Yet much lower than the country in leadership positions within football.

It’s not that BAME people are attracted to football. It’s that they don’t progress.

It’s like saying there are loads of BAME junior doctors but very few get to ‘Mister’ level. (I don’t know those stats)

What I said was:

I didn't say black people will not encounter racism.
