No, I think you are a bigot because you are trying to raise these points on a thread about a man who apparently blew himself up in a taxi outside a hospital. A man who according to press reports had converted to Christianity.
right, so if I had raised these issues on a thread entitled 'the role of Islam in the west' you'd have been fine.
sure. What a ridiculous standpoint. the whole world linked the events of Sunday to islamic fundamentalism, and the fact he converted to Christianity aint the game changer you seem to think.

This thread is a good example of the dangers of coming to a conclusion on the basis of insufficient evidence. So far as I know there hasn't been any evidence giving a reason why this person made a bomb, what he intended using it on, what influence he had on others or influence others had on him etc. In fact all we know is his name and where he lived - not a lot to be coming to judgement over.

Also it's a good example of why arguing about religion and politics should be banned in polite society.

Actually, why don’t you do that and see how it goes?

Good job we ain't a polite society!

I don't mind arguing over either, as it's done with the knowledge that I won't magically convert the opposing voices.

No, I’d have pointed out your absolute lack of knowledge on there as well.

yes you keep talking abut my lack of knowledge. So you think my criticisms of islamic society unfair. How have I misrepresented them. Are they not all disdainful of democracy, derisive of free speech, hateful of gays and unfair to women everywhere?

It would certainly be helpful for those of us who are just looking for information on what is currently happening innthe Liverpool case.
It’s mad that the area they’ve cordoned off in Kensington today is literally about a two minute walk from the house I was living in until the weekend before last. Boaler street was where my local convenience store was

Beautifully put. Reminds me of another old saying "Don't make decisions when you're angry". There's a lot of anger caused by these kind of events and it's easy to lose yourself in it. Sadly there's a lot of anger in this country (world?) at the moment and certain people actively pushing that anger. Our friend Kev here, in the politest way possible, needs to ask himself if he is in fact in the process of radicalisation.

which ones ar safe for gays, and treats women equally.

I'm clear there are aspects of islamic society and its teachings which I reject. The curbs on free speech following such instances as Charlie Hebdo do fill me with dismay. the success with which elements within islamic society have closed down criticism of huge swathes of life under islamic law concerns me. Am I radicalised? I think it is highly inappropriate to use such terminology. You seem to be equating me with people who would commit mass murder or sanction it. It's not easy raising these issues and remaining dispassionate when words like 'racist' and 'bigot' are levelled at you.

Yet, you're equating all of Islam with these murderers??? This post is your daftest post yet. You have insulted practically ever person on here and now YOU'RE the victim???? You MUST be on the wind up! Congratulations! You have my first "ignore" (if I can work out how to use it ?)
