You're the one defending a religion which subjugates women, persecutes gays won't allow Jews to live anywhere, disdains democracy and tramples over the right to free speech so you may want to think also about the plank in your own eye

Where have I defended it? I’ve just pointed out you have very little understanding of it at all (as proved by this latest vomit).

This is where I think you are missing the point. Nobody is 'defending' anything.

What people are doing is asking you for evidence to back up your opinions, they are offering alternative viewpoints as to religion as a whole, they are offering different viewpoints as to society as a whole. That is not a defence of anything, it is showing a willingness to look at the situation from a different standpoints.

It is more complex than simply agree/disagree. If you expand on specific aspects, give a reasoned argument other than the one book you have quoted then maybe, just maybe you may find that there are aspects that people agree with you. Or at least, understand your way of thinking. It has all been very vague from your side, in my personal opinion.

you know fundamental Christianity and Judaism are also guilty of this.
All organized religion has extremes, and in these extremes there are individuals who go even further.
Yes, it is the responsibility of the religion (among others) to root out dangerous extremists or prevent them ever getting to that point.
But it's dangerous to tar the entire religion and its many reasonable followers with the actions of the hand full of extremists.

TBF this is something I disagree with - it’s the responsibility of every individual to observe peaceful relations with every other individual, but it’s not to be held to some other level of responsibility because someone professing the same faith (or politics, allegiance, clan or whatever) has done something wrong.

Saying to “good Muslims” that they’ve got to condemn a thing is as bad as calling for good men to condemn rapists, or calling for good Westerners to condemn the antics of Blair or Bush. It fairly quickly leads to communities being targeted, as we see here.

Makes you wonder that if they have found something dodgy there now how come they had not discovered it previously? It has been 3 or 4 days now and they, the police or whatever, must have been all over that house?
I was wondering if one of the reasons they released people earlier this week was to see what they would do/where they would go/who they would see.

Maybe I’ve watched too many episodes of spooks though.

Hello Kevin, I see you’re still fighting the good fight. I just wanted to ask, now that it’s clear the guy had converted to Christianity, does Christianity need to reform?
