Police investigating a terror incident outside a hospital in Liverpool have named the man killed in the blast as 32-year-old Emad al Swealmeen.

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Meeks said: "Our enquiries are very much ongoing but at this stage we strongly believe that the deceased is 32-year-old Emad al Swealmeen.

"Al Swealmeen is connected to both the Rutland Avenue and Sutcliffe Street addresses where searches are still ongoing.

"We believe he lived at the Sutcliffe Street address for some time and had recently rented the Rutland Avenue address.

"Our focus is the Rutland Avenue address where we have continued to recover significant items.

"We continue to appeal for any information about this incident and now that we have released his name any information that the public may have about al Swealmeen no matter how small may be of great assistance to us."

I wonder would you have the same low opinion of the freedoms you enjoy if you had to spend say a year in a communist state and then a year in Saudi? I suspect you'd be crying with joy on the flight home.
And I guess you don't understand how capitalism works or what it is?
I would say your freedoms are based on subjugating those of other people, a selfish class ridden hangover from the empire.
Have you ever considered cause and effect, how your attitude and approach fuels these incidents by creating the very martyrdom these balloons seek?
There are no 'communist states' anymore, it's unlikely there ever were, just the money talking to convince you that going along with divide and rule was fine for you because as an 'englishman' you were higher on the rung. By virtue of absolute jack.

I may have missed something (been working) but has the culprit been confirmed as being foreign? Because I have only seen "of middle eastern descent" being mentioned which could easily mean that they are scouse as he is (not that anybody could be THAT scouse) and in that case the use of "they" becomes problematic.

It's never about immigration yet its the first thing that rears it's ugly head.
Who’s to say they doesn't mean extremist?

It's quite interesting this though.

You have came in asking for a discussion and a discussion is being given.

You then ask for examples of other religious terrorism and they are given. Are you going to ignore them because if so really its not a discussion it's just some bias confirmation being sought. (I don't think its that, you have never struck me as that type)

I think its important in bad times not to start attacking but to reflect instead and ask the right questions.

Take the answers on board, there is no shame in not knowing about the above mentioned incidents, you would have to be going out of your way to know about them as they are not reported as much so most people will be in the same boat. If someone is giving you extra knowledge use it and recalculate opinions.

Sorry that sounds really sanctimonious and it's not meant to be, I just think people need to take on board things that they may not have known previously more.
I don't believe my position was that no crimes have ever been committed by any religion but one. Rather that we are only talking about islamic fundamentalism because of its scale and reach. It dwarfs atrocities carried out in the name of other regions, surely we can agree that, there doesn't need to be a debate about it. And I certainly wasn't calling for one on that point. The debate I was calling for was on Islam as it exists today, and the issues it presents for western societies.
