This, this, this, every day & twice on Tuesday!

This is what I've wanted from our players. Turn the Derby into any other game. Gerrard & his rabble treat us with contempt, as though the Derby means more to us than them but, come the day, look at how he pranced about after scoring. As you say, Jags was like, "Yeah, whatever. A point saved". I just think that if we treated it like an ordinary game (I'm thinking players mostly here), then beating them would be easier. There's no need to heap unnecessary pressure on ourselves.

In the moment, it was perfect. A Captain's celebration who just scored a worldie like he does it all the time.

Love a player who celebrates like that...especially in that moment.

last weeks stats

75% posession to palace's 25
17 shots to their 10
6 on target to their 3 (they scored with every shot on target)

we smashed them last week, could of scored a lot more, just luck wasn't on our side. They took every chance.

no creativity, we're the second highest scorers in the league?!!!
This! Some of the negativity reminds me of Toffeeweb at its most negative. We'll continue to score incredible games from open play in our next game. Some spoilt brats on here. We are absolutely broke and yet still managing to play on occasion some of the best football in the league. Every one else can see that. Why can't we? Crap game at a place that is an unbelievable hoo-doo for us. Do you think a Roberto team will beat them there in the next couple of seasons? Damn straight.

Good result that and think Martinez got his gameplan right. Hibbert did well against sterling, or as well as he could be expected to do with sterling and his pace he was bound to cause us problems. Browning looked ok for the half an hour he was on and besic looked tidy in midfield. A massive shame in kev getting injured, we lost a lot of our potency going forward with him going off. The good news there is pienaar should be back soon so hopefully we get better performances down the left with him and baines.

Barry to me looks off the pace, gave the ball away a lot and was caught in possession a few times, besic did enough in that 90 minutes to give Barry something to worry about IMO. Mcgeady is so frustrating to watch, he's got everything a player needs as a winger but can never quite seem to get it together.

We got out of there with a point, defensively we look much better with stones and jags in there, so much more composed and solid. We played badly, they played well, we did well to get a draw on the performance as we didn't offer much going forward, especially in the 2nd half.

All in all a good result, both teams had a bit of luck going with them or against them at times. We definitely have a lot of room for improvement in all areas to get to the level we were at last season. A good result to build on.

We will definitely do them there soon. If Barkley, Coleman and pienaar started yesterday we would have done them.

Despite all the possession they had on the right with sterling they created very little. We are arguably missing our 3 most creative players.

Can't be upset at the result but getting there was ugly for 91 minutes. There were positive for sure I just don't understand how bobby couldn't see how out of place Lukaku looked out wide.

As for the RS they weren't all that impressive IMO aside from the pace of sterling. Of course I think my grandmother could out pace hibbo.

I don't truly despise many people but I can see Balotelli
Will soon make the list. He's nothing more than an actress playing a CF in tv.

.......some are saying its the greatest ever goal scored in the kop. They don't like that, they don't like that at all so I think we should officially declare it. EVERTON'S PHIL JAGIELKA SCORED THE GREATEST GOAL EVER SEEN IN THE KOP END - official. Tell all your buddies in work, university, the pub and on the internet.

I thought the defence played OK toady. Obviously Hibbo needs shifting back to the bench, but Stones, Jags and Baines plus the madman in goal are settling down again......great pity about Kev getting injured......but I reckon we'll do OK now........

Defence did much better than 'ok' mate. Liverpool hardly played through us. They've dominated stats due to pot shots from all over the place. Not once did their strikers or wide men get a real one on one opportunity, or a clear chance in the box (apart from the Balotelli one after they scored), the defence was superb yesterday, and again, the Stones-Jagielka partnership, well its working, they've played 3 games so far and conceded 0 from open play.
