Man Utd team collectively refusing to wear a LBGTQ warm up top to avoid Noussair Mazraoui from being isolated in his refusal to wear it on religious grounds.

A Rainbow Devils statement added: “We respect the right of this player to have his own views, whilst also feeling disappointed that he put the rest of the squad into a position where they felt that they couldn’t wear their jackets. We also worry what kind of negative effect this incident might have on any player at the club who may be struggling with their sexuality.

I respect your right to follow your religion in the way you see fit and in turn you can respect my right to consider you homophobic for it.

There are many people who have evolved with society and still practice their religions. I understand that in consideration to the Qur'an if you don't follow it to the letter then people will be up in arms and say oh you're not a true Muslim but that's just waffle now. So so many people are practicing Muslims but don't follow it to the law. My wife is a Muslim and so I know many and they'll all have different things which they do that they shouldn't. Some drink, some don't pray all the time etc. The list goes on. Do they not consider themselves Muslim because of this? No, because they've evolved with humanity and society.

Like i said, its a completely empty gesture when its forced, and if the league want to enforce it, it should be something noticeable but not placed on an individual.

My idea of having a rainbow ball means anyone who plays is automatically included.

Arm bands should be left for captains, or honouring a death, as is tradition.

I've always thought the laces thing is stupid, because you can't see see it, either at the game or on TV. The ball is a much more visible representation and removes the need to castigate individuals.

I can't help but thinking though, that the majority of these virtue signalling gestures are in essence, the antithesis of what they claim to be in the 1st place. They tend to have the opposite effect of what they set out to do. They claim its to promote inclusion, but invariably just cause further division that didnt need to happen, and wouldn't have happened but for the push, whether that be wearing a poppy, rainbow laces or taking the knee.

The very nature of football is supposed to be tribalism and inclusiveness. It doesn't matter where you come from or what you believe, you are one of us now, and thats all that matters.

There is no record in the Bible of Jesus directly addressing or condemning same-sex relationships or homosexuality.

Promoting gambling sponsors that harm lives = acceptable

Loving someone of the same sex = unacceptable

Absolute hypocrites these rich religious footballers
It is not necessarily about condemning same sex relationships. People should not be forced to parade symbols of something just because trendy 'right ons' decide so.

I have a number of friends who are gay, and was delighted to be invited to one couple's wedding which was really enjoyable. But I know that none of these friends expect me to go around publicly wearing symbols that actively campaign for LGBTQ+.

Our friendship is more than enough.

The liberals who are forcing this are proving again to be the most intolerant people in society. They don't just think they know what is right they also KNOW what everyone must think, believe and do.

Failure to comply with their agenda will lead to ridicule at best or downright persecution in some cases.

The F.A and premier league are a bunch of liberals?

Sad to see the the captains of Ipswich and Crystal Palace - a muslim and a black man - members of two of the minorities most discriminated against and who most benefit from diversity and inclusion programmes - showing intolerance for another minority and hiding under the blanket of "religious beliefs".

If your religion denies the basic human rights of others, then you need to question your religious belief. If you won't do that, you're going to have to live with others making their minds up about your intelligence and homophobia.

It's a week long campaign to try and make something visible within the PL on the pitch. The PL does not have any current active LGBTQ+ players or managers. There are many active and visible players and managers of different faiths, nationalities and races. They are visible. If wearing a different type of armband for a week is so difficult to do to try and show solidarity and support of a marginalised community in society and the football space is so difficult then it says a lot more about you as a person than it does of those asking you to do so.

Absolute tosh, what fragment of truth there might be to any of what you say gets punted out the window by your hyperbolic nonsense.

'People who want inclusivity are the most intolerant in society', if we are doing sweeping generalisations to support blanket views you might want to consider other factions of society before you start handing out intolerance awards

I did see some rainbow swastikas amongst the protesters trying to burn hotels with families in.

The bit in bold is obviously a very sensible and obvious comment, that I wholeheartedly agree with, nobody should expect every person to be a 'trendy right on', as you put it. The rest is a little bit nonsensical.

Unfortunately, we live in a society where people need to be reminded that everybody is equal, and everybody has a right to be treated as an equal.

If you are against this very quick and small reminder, you have to be pretty stupid to not expect varying degrees of backlash for your opinions and/or actions.
