Marc Guehi reprimanded for writing ‘I ❤️ Jesus’ on his rainbow armband.

We’ve already seen backlash on our own IGG for electing not to wear one of these armbands as it supports a cause that is contrary to his religion and supports an illegal activity in his home nation.

In my humble opinion, the EPL needs to either knock it it on the head completely or allow the likes of Guehi to do what he did.

There shouldn’t be pressure on players to express open support for things that can be controversial in there private lives for fear of being ostracised, while at the same time suppressing religion

they are just using religion as an excuse for their outright bigotry

There is no record in the Bible of Jesus directly addressing or condemning same-sex relationships or homosexuality.

Promoting gambling sponsors that harm lives = acceptable

Loving someone of the same sex = unacceptable

Absolute hypocrites these rich religious footballers

100%, they're hypocrites, gambling has resulted in death and misery yet they're fine wearing gambling sponsorships??

From a personal pov i think anyone should be able to decide what they can and cannot wear without being charged by the FA, that doesn't exclude them from criticism though

It's not very inclusive to reprimand a player who is saying 'I love Jesus' is it? I thought diversity and inclusion was the point of all this.

Hypocrites.
FA rules allow a number of "initiative slogans/emblems", such as this weekend's 'Rainbow Laces', but prohibit "political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images".

If Guehi was uncomfortable wearing the rainbow armband for whatever reason he could simply have refused. He wouldn't be the first.

Religion has caused more hurt and suffering thoughtout the history of man than anything else.

Ban the lot of it.
I would, as an atheist conclude that people are the cause. They wrap themselves in a banner, be it religion, nationalism, marxism as an excuse to set themselves apart and give a reason for their aggression which is just down to psychopathic thirsts for power over others. It is usually a man as well. They tend to interpret things to justify what they are doing.
