Can I clarify - do we know why he wrote it?

It seems folk seem to be equating what he wrote as a way of subverting the armbands message.

Until he clarifies, we don't know. For all we know he was trying to say its cool to have faith and accept/support LGBTQ+.

I really hope it is the latter.

I would, as an atheist conclude that people are the cause. They wrap themselves in a banner, be it religion, nationalism, marxism as an excuse to set themselves apart and give a reason for their aggression which is just down to psychopathic thirsts for power over others. It is usually a man as well. They tend to interpret things to justify what they are doing.

In my humble opinion, the EPL needs to either knock it it on the head completely or allow the likes of Guehi to do what he did.

There shouldn’t be pressure on players to express open support for things that can be controversial in there private lives for fear of being ostracised, while at the same time suppressing religion

This is clearly someone making a statement against the message of support and acceptance the armband is intended to symbolize.

What would be said I wonder if it was an armband in support of ending Islamophobia and Islamophobic abuse (or any religion of your choice) and violence and someone decided to write "I love Jesus" and replace the message of the armband with one showing you clearly disagree with the intent of the armband?

Everyone wants to have the right to be entitled to their beliefs and to live their lives the way they see fit without harming anyone else. Whether it's religious worship or sexual preferences or whatever else, how hard is it to ignore it and leave people as they are if you don't agree with something?

Nobody says you can't disagree, but don't constantly advertise your objection to a group of people who haven't directly harmed you or anyone else if you don't want to be called an arsehole.

There is no record in the Bible of Jesus directly addressing or condemning same-sex relationships or homosexuality.
