We have took a risk In keeping him but they didn't offer us enough to tempt us and if they bid lower again then we can reject, he in his peak now and we have him for two season. Didn't Man u get the one from Real Madrid on loan

I think Baines is too quiet to be captain, which incidentally I think is also the case with Jagielka. It's like the anonymous leader on the field - which is a shame. Probably better making T-How a captain, at least he shouts and motivates the team.

If Baines is staying now forever I hope a new contract is sorted out to reward his loyalty AND tie him down for the next five years. He could've agitated for a move, he could've slammed in a transfer request, gone bitching to the papers, had his people release statements or drive up a bidding war by admitting their man wants out. But what did he do? Nothing - which was probably the best move to do. He he pledged his loyalty and then United offered 20m I have no doubt he'd be a United player now.

Well done Leighton lad.
