Left Back Debacle

As an out and out FB who is the better of the 2
If it’s Magnusson maybe Siggy will put in a word.
Although by all accounts ( yours mainly ) the owner is minted and they are pushing for top 6 so maybe neither is realistic.

Out and out FB, Magnusson.

The owner is Steve Lansdown, half of Hargreaves Lansdown. Very minted. Bank rolls Bristol City, Bristol Rugby, and weirdly a basketball team in the city as well.

He can whip in some decent crosses too.

And yes. As a pair, they just work. If they could step up, different matter.

Great offensively
Not proven defensively
And here’s that word again POTENTIAL
Need a proven experienced LB

Now there’s a name that hasn’t been mentioned
Anybody any insights into Darmian
I know he was useful the first few months at United , not so sure now.
He’s a left footed player
He’s a defender
He’s better than Martina
Surely that fits all the criteria

So, you don't want Sessegnon (massively rated and valued at 40mil odd) but you think Darmian 'fits all the criteria' we need.

Bedtime princess.

I'm sure there are lots of Sessengon shouts in here and the kid is brilliant but to me he seems to score too much to put in the back line. I imagine he will he playing more left wing in the future. I'd love to sign him but a more traditional left back wouldn't hurt

State where I said i wanted Darmian
I said I hadn’t seen much of him
I stated he’s better than Martina as a left back which he is,which is one of the criteria.
I’d rather sign Darmian than no one
He’d be less of a risk than sessegnon AT THE MOMENT , but Shaw would be a better option at the moment if available

He can do both. Against Wolves, and United, they had an Icelandic LB, Magnusson, with him playing infront. Baines/Peanuts esq.

And Magnusson can do ace Icelandic long throws to boot. I would take em both personally. But I am biased.
I know it’s not even a rumor but Magnusson can also play in the center of a defense as well I believe. He’s something like 6’3” No idea if he’s any good as Ive only watched him once this year against City, but it’d be nice to have a player who can cover both positions.

2.40!!! I am in love

We need Athlete's in the side and the full backs have got to be quick on the ball and powerful. We have one Athlete maybe, Calvert-Lewin? The rest are two small and too weak imo and this is key in our League not just pace.

I hope we go after Nzonzi end of the season and would love Dembele of Spurs to partner him in central midfield then maybe we could dominate a few games and keep the ball.

Another example that explains the level of scrutiny on the transfer strategy of the club.

The complete failure for so long to bring any striker in to support/replace Lukaku (Enner Valencia et al.) and now we seem to be twiddling our thumbs with a left back.

Not like Baines is getting any younger is it? so even if they are pinning their hopes on him coming back very soon its not a great long term strategy either.

For next season we will have the option of Coleman, Kenny and Connolly at right back, yet all we have at left back is an ageing Baines and a stand in Cuco who is a right back anyway.

Not exactly covering themselves in glory here.
