Left Back Debacle

I suppose its also possible that if our first option isnt available until the summer, the reason we havent heard any LB links is we havent attempted any. We may be preferring not to spend any money on it until the summer, so we are giving Garbutt 2 weeks to show he can win the job until we splash cash on a temporary fill. If we determine this week he cant do it, then we go get one.

Thats one theory anyway.

Remember when star strikers were a premium luxury on the market? Why has a position Phil Neville played from time-to-time suddenly become impossible to fill.

In the PC game "Crusader Kings 2" there is a random event that can occur where it appears to your medieval and primitive government that a gateway to hell has appeared in your lands. You can either pray to it, sacrifice a virgin in order to appease it or choose to try to fill the hole with small rocks or cows.

Phil Neville at left back was the "fill it with cows" option.

I'm sorry but prioritizing signing Walcott over a left back should see anyone involved in that decision booted out of here. It's glaringly obvious to anyone with eyes where our biggest weakness is and it isn't on the wings despite how crap they've been.
Reckon the plan was striker, then left back and then Walcott late in the window knowing that Arsenal would want rid and Walcott would want a World Cup place

Then Saints manager comes out and says he's interested, so they rush to get that one done

No Garbutt for latest u23 squad. Must be in contention for the weekend. Don't care if he's not the second coming of Baines, anybody who is a natural left back is a massive improvement on Martina.

I've heard a strong rumour that we bought a job lot of 'Martina' shirts in the summer and are considering a move for Martin Anavra-Tilova to make best use of them. He's a natural leftie with great ball control, and a winning mentality. Make it happen Walshy.
