I said a villain, I was referring to the Grand Master character. Or does he not count?

The villain was ridiculous? Oh come on mate, 99.9% of comic villains are ridiculous, including The villain in Ragnerock that everyone raved about.

Ahem :p

The Grand Master could be considered a villain possibly, but he was certainly not the villain, more a side character. And he was definitely not meant to be taken seriously!

But since Hela has been mentioned. I didn't think she was all that good either.

I think she was pretty good. Good performance and better than most of the recent Marvel (and Suicide Squad) villains. Can't say for the one in JL.

Fair enough, I should made myself clear that i meant one of the villains rather then THE villain.;)

If he wasn't meant to be taken seriously then they should of created a totally new character rather then destroy the Grand Master.

I grant you she was better then the villain in Suicide Squad and most of the recent Marvel villains but TBH that's not a very high bar to set.

I thought the film was dreadful from start to finish...
And you'd be correct. I thought it was ok on first viewing but after seeing it a second time all its faults were so much more obvious and annoying. Perhaps it was the fact that I wanted it to be good that made me enjoy it the first time because it really isn't a good film.

I don't get how you can say what's the point because wouldn't that also apply to any super-hero film were the team of good guys have to band together to save the day?

I thought Flash, Aquaman, Cyborg were all brilliant as was Wonder Woman again and Batman was fine. Superman? I don't see what annoyed you tbh as I thought he was fine. Wonder Woman has pretty much always worn the pants in Justice League comics for the better part of twenty years now so that was only an accurate reflection on the comics.

The thing with the "developing the universe" line that always gets thrown out at DC. It's already developed for a lot of characters, everyone knows Batman and Superman. Do people really want us to sit through origin films for them all yet again?! To me some of the criticism that gets aimed at DC films is double standards as most of the same problems are on display in 99% of Marvel films which get raved reviews regardless of quality.

First up I can see you're excited about this and I'm in no way having a pop. Just opinions. I saw the film and thought it was pretty average. I think there is definitely room for both franchises, but Marvel have done it first, and done it by showing something new. Ok, The villain. Bad CGI for starters. His face is shocking. Its like they drew him on a Sega. Where's he from again? Just zips in via the Bi Frost when he feels like it. Why has he comeback again? It's been a year since Superman has died. Whats he been doing? And his bug henchmen... do they pop in from anther dimension too? .... to capture people and take them hostage? What for again? It's a Plot that makes no sense. Okay now that seems like an unforgivable crime in terms of a film, but it's not. You know what to expect with these type of films and you can brush the problems under the carpet somewhat.

Superman is way too emo all the time. Too short for the part. Batman is too fat in his suit. Flash's suit is a little silly.

Pros - Aquaman comes out of this pretty unscathed. How hot is Connie Neilsen. omg.

I think the disparity between the two, Marvel and DC, is that Marvel had a plan to do this and it's become an amazing machine in terms of development of it's filmmakers and style. You can't easily poke holes in marvel films because they go about Producing their content in the right way. You say DC has 'developed a lot of characters' - which ones? Superman has been a bust. Batman, sure, another decade away from re-booting, Wonder Woman has one film in the bag. On the whole JL does steal a far bit from other films. The opening scene right out of 'Incredibles' The war where men, elves and hobitses faught Sauron / Horn Guy for the fate of Middle Earth and the evil rings / boxes shall be kept and protected by each race. Setting the finale in the eastern bloc where you can blow up whatever you like with less consequences etc... feels like all the heavy lifting has been dome by other films and they've just fit them into their own narrative.

Dark Knight Rises, again.

Well you'd be right to say I'm excited by having the Justice League in a film mate, one of my childhood wishes were fulfilled!lol

I appreciate that Marvel made their cinematic universe first but I see no reason for that to make any difference with DC films. DC tried to go a different route to Marvel in MOS and BvS but were crapped on for it. They've took the criticism onbord and altered the tone in Justice League accordingly. Its far more lighter in its tone but thankfully hasn't one down the Marvel route and turned it into a self-parody of what it once was (I'm looking at Ragnarok here) or become a lame joke fest like Guardians of the Galaxy two was.

Ok so the Villain, the CGI wasn't great and that's a valid criticism but I really don't think he was any worse then a large chunk of characters featured in Marvel films. Ultron springs to mind and the laughable character made of rocks in the last Thor film.

I thought they'd made his back story perfectly clear tbh pal. His name is Seppnewolf and he's the general of the army of Apokolips. He's travelled all over the multiverse conquering world but was handed his one and only defeat on earth by the combined forces of Atlantians, Amazon's and men (and a Green Lantern if you watch the scene carefully). He couldn't return until all the mother box's worked as they'd been dormant and separated since the first invasion so he's now returning to exact his revenge. Very simple comic story really.

The plot does make sense, it just has more then a few holes in it. Something that always happens in comic films. The mother box's were the reason he was able to return to earth, after his defeat thousands of years ago the three box's were devided up and remained dormant until they started to vibrate giving Seppnewolf there location. Coincidence? Sure, typical comic thing.

I couldn't disagree with you more over Superman, I think these films have easily been the best interpretation of Superman ever on film. He's more like the actual comic character and less like what people who have an old school vision of what superman should be. I'm no fan of Ben Afflick and they should work on the Barman suit but again, he's the closest thing to the comic character ever to be on screen in a film.

Aquaman was really good and i cant wait for his solo film. your right Connie Nelisen was stunning but Amber Heard as Mera was on a other level, she is jaw droppingly beautiful.

You can't poke holes in Marvel films? On that mate, we'll have to agree to massively disagree! I think some of Marvel's film story telling has been so poor and cringeworhy at times I've been embarrassed to be seen watching it. Have they built their film world very well? Yes they have and DC have a lot of catching up to do but I think they've tackled that very well in the films made so far. We've been introduced to the whole team (minus Green Lantern) and I'd like to see more. This trilogy has developed superman perfectly Imo. They'll all get their chance to shine in uocoming solo films. The Ben Afflick leaving Batman problem is easily resolved, just let the Flash solo film be flashpoint and problem sorted. New Barman for a logical in plot reason.

As far as stealing plots, loads of Marvel films are just as guilty of that as anyone. I really feel the whole DCEU gets a bad rap and lots of very harsh and sometimes unjustified criticism but that's just me.

All about opinions though as you said. Films and everything else would be very boring of we all just agreed on everything.;)

Just read this back and wow, I think this might be the longest post I've ever made on GOT!lol

Just finished Justice League.

Waaaay better than I thought it would be.

Not great still. And I still can’t stand the Superman actor dude.

But nah. Initial score of:

4 Championship Belts out of 5.

May got to 3.5 after reflection by really feel like DC are sorting their lives out.

Was a bit meh on the whole JLoA film, but with this thing that's going around about too many 'low' upskirt shots...well I'll go just to be outraged and show solidarity.
Down with this sort of thing...CAB'd looking for Father Ted clip
