Last Film You Watched

In two minds about Sully...I mean, airplane lands on water...the end. Sounds a bit like Titanic without the sinking....or the ship....or the bad acting maybe

But I like Tom Hanks so...perhaps I'll give it a whirl

It was a surprisingly decent story, good casting and easy viewing. Not going to set your world on fire, but worth a watch IMO ;)

Also watched Hell or High Water at weekend, very enjoyable! Almost a Fargo / No country for old men feel to it.
Enjoyed hell or high water, even the minir characters were good, the old fella in the bank, the waitress in the diner, small roles but good,Sully didnt do it for me just seemed an empty story

Was thinking what to watch last night, saw this mentioned and that was that...excellent film and doesn't seem to have aged too badly considering it's now 25 years old!
Really good film I will watched it again in the near future, but you should not have told me it's 25years old, makes me feel old.

Emelie (2015) - Thriller -
'A young boy (Joshua Rush) tries to protect his two siblings when their new baby sitter (Sarah Bolger) starts to reveal her psychotic nature.'
6/10.

Girl On The Edge (2015) - Drama/Family - Taylor Spreitler, Peter Coyote and Gil Bellows.
'A troubled teenager finds healing in the most unlikely of places, and has to choose to accept her recovery or succumb to the trauma of her past.'
Semi-based on the story of the director's family. A bit like a made for tv movie.
6/10.

The Quiet Hour (2014) - Thriller/Drama - Dakota Blue Richards, Karl Davies and Jack McMullen.
'In a rural part of post-apocalyptic England occupied by alien invaders, a teenager fights against bandits to save her family farm.'
6/10.

I thought it added loads to the original, but agree it didn't necessarily need to be made.

I loved the way it was literally 20 years after the original and you got a bit of back story as to what they'd been up to.

It wasn't as gritty as the first one. But didn't need to be I don't think. It was never going to compete so don't think it even tried to.
Having read all the books several times, I feel I have a lot of the back stories, so for me it almost took away rather than added. I did like the many references back to the original, especially the music and some of the set pieces. Thought that was quite skillful and made me feel very nostalgic.

Watched war dogs last night.
Based on a true story how the us military advertise small deals to supply them with weapons and uniform etc rather than source it all themselves. Even after the bother that was caused during this story, apparently they still advertise this way today.

Enjoyable easy film to watch.

Loved that movie. You're right. Easy watch.

Thought Jonah Hill was exceptional in it.

I'm interested in what you thought of it?

I despise the women so much in that movie, but it's an important film in horror history.

She really is not very good to put it lightly. The two lads are believable because they seem genuinely very frightened which adds to your nerves watching, whereas she badly overdoes it to the point you actually want her to get killed off. No surprise she never acted in anything ever again after this, it clearly wasn't the profession for her.

Trainspotting 2 absolute rubbish. Only good bits are flashbacks to the first one. Critics all kissing Boyles butt. The loud music distracted from the crap content. Really want to watch the first one again though. 2.5/5
Would have thought if it was absolute rubbish it would have warranted a 1/5
