Arrival - 4/10 boring emotional crap.
Well, disagree there. I thought it was an excellent film.

It was more about the inquiry afterwards, but they did dedicate a fair bit to the landing, but as memories rather than as it happened. In two minds about Sully...I mean, airplane lands on water...the end. Sounds a bit like Titanic without the sinking....or the ship....or the bad acting maybe
But I like Tom Hanks so...perhaps I'll give it a whirl
Gave it 2.5 because I was the only person in the cinema. 1.5 for the experienceWould have thought if it was absolute rubbish it would have warranted a 1/5
Bit harsh on DiCaprio. Best film he was ever inI watched Invictus last night.
About the 1995 Springbok team who won the world cup.
At first I couldn't stomach Morgan Freeman as Nelson Mandela, but by the end of it, I stopped noticing Morgan.
Matt Damon was good, and his accent was pretty good, seemed natural to me (and the South African colleague said his accent was very good, unlike Leo DiCaprio's awful attempt in that Blood Diamond).
Worth a watch, although it focuses more on the WC bringing the country together rather than the sporting implications and controversy afterward.

This was on the other night.
As with all Seth Macfarlane films it's very funny, with non stop gags all the way through.
Recommended.
It's the type of comedy the Americans do so well, Naked Gun / Airplane etc.
Cheesy, but very funny and crude too.

Catch Me If You Can, for me.I thought 'The Wolf On Wall Street' was a pretty full on performance by him.
I'm not his biggest fan, always seemed a bit too 'boy band'ish' but, his role in that was amazing!
Catch Me If You Can, for me.
He was good in the departed but I'm not really a fan of the film. That's mine too, followed by The Departed.

I like matt damon but i found him disappointing as francois pienaar, one of the great sporting captains, and damon really failed to capture that, he didn't come across as pienaar at all, and just seemed to be another rugby player, even when he is doing something as mundane as punditry you get that feeling with francois that he's just a natural leader, damon felt very bland in this filmI watched Invictus last night.
