Watching the Blair Witch Project for the first time. Horror movies ain't normally my cup of tea but I've grown to like films which have a raw feel to them. It starts of slow but things are about to pick up now I think.
Boss film.

It paved the way for films like Paranormal Activity, Rec and Cloverfield.

T2:Trainspotting. Decent enough film, but probably didn't need making - it adds nothing to the original, which is a stone cold classic. I'm a massive fan of Irvine Welsh, and this film is supposed to be based on 'Porno'. It kind of is, but it's very loose. Was looking forward to Juice Terry being brought to life, but sadly it wasn't to be. File under 'meh'.

I thought it added loads to the original, but agree it didn't necessarily need to be made.

I loved the way it was literally 20 years after the original and you got a bit of back story as to what they'd been up to.

It wasn't as gritty as the first one. But didn't need to be I don't think. It was never going to compete so don't think it even tried to.

I'm interested in what you thought of it?

I despise the women so much in that movie, but it's an important film in horror history.

I agree.

A lot of it felt quite contrived.

Decent enough.

Watched Hacksaw Ridge (2017)

Brilliant brilliant with a few drawbacks but mainly brilliant!

I wasn't much of a fan of Andrew Garfield before this but he was perfectly cast. After reading more about Desmond Doss afterwards you can easily see that Garfield reflected Doss' character accurately and empathetically.
As mentioned in this thread, Vince Vaughan was great too, in something you would not expect of him.

Mel Gibson, can do war movies that's for sure. I'd rank this right up there.

That bit where he's dragging Vaughan back on the bit of tent or whatever it is, and he's shooting the Japanese lads. Felt a bit daft!

But overall 4 Championship Belts out of 5. Possibly rising to 4.5 after I reflect a bit late.r

The battle scenes are incredible. It starts off slowly, but when it gets going it's immense.

Also the interviews with him and the survivors at the end really reinforce what an incredibly selfless and blave fella he was.

Amazing film.

In the last week T2 which I really enjoyed and think it was the perfect accompaniment to the original, which was a top film but was also at times uneasy viewing.

Also watched Sully, which was a decent watch for a quiet Monday night in

In two minds about Sully...I mean, airplane lands on water...the end. Sounds a bit like Titanic without the sinking....or the ship....or the bad acting maybe

But I like Tom Hanks so...perhaps I'll give it a whirl
