Watching the Blair Witch Project for the first time. Horror movies ain't normally my cup of tea but I've grown to like films which have a raw feel to them. It starts of slow but things are about to pick up now I think.

Story line is very intricate. But it's soooo boring.

Watched "the theory of everything" on Netflix yesterday, it was good,but hard to watch in places. Hawking is clearly a brilliant scientist, but that is overshadowed, for me, by his courage to endure what motor neurone disease has done to him

It was another of those films were the idea seems good but the execution of it is awful,there was a chance of a good film in there but ended up being turgid

thought it was ok in parts, thought the main actor had zero menace about him and it ruined it a bit

Thats what i mean edge,there was the makings of a good film there, I seen it with a few over the last year or so where all the ingredients are there but they just lack something were you just think it was a waste

Nothing wrong with emotional mate. But if it's too slow placed I will struggle I think.

Just got back from watching Rings, the "reboot" of the Ring franchise. Man, I rang a rong number there... Such a bad movie.

I watched the Japanese ones when they came out...also give AUDITION a watch.

Theyre terrifying.

Yes that was quality. Can't beat a nice bit of raw violence. I liked the wedding story at the end too.

Watched Hacksaw Ridge (2017)

Brilliant brilliant with a few drawbacks but mainly brilliant!

I wasn't much of a fan of Andrew Garfield before this but he was perfectly cast. After reading more about Desmond Doss afterwards you can easily see that Garfield reflected Doss' character accurately and empathetically.
As mentioned in this thread, Vince Vaughan was great too, in something you would not expect of him.

Mel Gibson, can do war movies that's for sure. I'd rank this right up there.

Spoiler: The only thing that annoyed me

That bit where he's dragging Vaughan back on the bit of tent or whatever it is, and he's shooting the Japanese lads. Felt a bit daft!

But overall 4 Championship Belts out of 5. Possibly rising to 4.5 after I reflect a bit late.r

No mate.

It's not supposed to be the same as the first film.

It's more subtle ( apart from Begbie ).

The first one was full on, in your face, which reflected their youth and couldn't give a F lifestyle.

This one reflects the fact that they're middle aged, going nowhere, in a rut, but off the gear.

It's a very well crafted film, not a masterpiece like the first, but good non the less.

It's sad, bittersweet and very funny too . ( the Orange Lodge Social Club / Begbie and the viagra ? )

it did tie up a few loose ends IMO
As for a sequel it was better than some of the gash that I've seen
