Last Film You Watched

I really do not understand the love for Nicholas Cage on here. Is it tongue-in-cheek? hes probably the wost actor Ive ever seen, and my least favorite. His films are all utter gash.

Sorry, just my opinion.
I think you have to appreciate that maybe his performances are often in some way tongue-in-cheek, certainly he has a penchant for over-acting, but Face Off, Con Air and The Rock are some of the best (if cheesy) action movies of the decade, and films like Leaving Las Vegas and Adaptation are legit quality, as well as the like of Raising Arizona (which I haven't seen) and Kick Ass (if you are not adverse to Comic Book movies, although this is no MCU, more The Joker).

He has done a few good ones (Wild At Heart, Adaptation, Bad Lieutenant, Mandy) but, yeah, i can't think of any worse genre than bad action films.

Number one on Netflix at the mo - Next.

No Rage Cage in this one, more of a reflective, world weary Cage.

A washed up magician uses his abilities to see 2 mins into the future to cheat the casinos out of money and avoid arrest.

The FBI want to use his ability to prevent a nuclear terrorist attack.

Not his worst and not his best.

Middle ranking Cage.

Re-watched Irreversible the other night. Nearly 20 years old now, but just as harrowing as when I first saw it (at the Odeon, of all places). Brutal, but brilliant.

Christ - Hope you weren't on a date

When your gf/mrs/partner wants you to take her to Paris...

Whack Irreversible on with the romantic allure of the Belucci / Cassel husband and wife, lead actor combo...set in beau Paris with Belucci wearing a lovely frock...

GOOD NEWS
She'll never want to visit France (let alone Paris) again ;)

BAD NEWS
You may not be having sexual relations until the trauma wears off

I think that might be the cheapest movie poster I've ever seen

Out of Sight

Not seen it in years and years.

Decent adaptation of the Elmore Leonard novel. I had totally forgotten that Ray Nicolette ( Michael Keatons character in Jackie Brown) pops up.

For those unfamiliar with the (frankly silly) story a prolific, non-violent bank robber breaks out of jail and then kidnaps a US Marshal in the process. She gets away and the rest of the film is their on/off attraction. (played a young Jennifer Lopez - beautiful)

Loads of other familiar faces in the cast. An easy two hour watch, probably keep the mrs happy enough.

A solid 7.
J-lo's best ever work - and it was pretty much the first thing she ever did

Great David Holmes soundtrack too
