Last Film You Watched

Christ - Hope you weren't on a date
Back in the days when dating was a thing in my life, I only ever took my dates to the milder stuff - picture the scene in Taxi Driver when De Niro takes Cybil Shepherd to the flicks.

But funny you should mention that... when I did see Irreversible at the Odeon all those years ago, a couple in their early 20s came in holding hands, all loved up, and clearly on a date. Giant bucket of popcorn, Pepsi, the works. Amazingly, they stayed through it all, and I'd put money on them bailing at the
fire extinguisher
scene. They were stunned, clearly traumatised and silent (which was good, as I had them down for the sort who were going to talk all the way through). They could have picked pretty much any film showing, anywhere... but they chose that one lol

The dangers of not checking IMDB before you head out!

Wonder if that couple are still together? Probably getting ready for a double bill tonight of Martyrs and The Human Centipede

I suspect that evening saw the end of a beautiful friendship. But I wish them well, wherever they may be, and hopefully the tranquilisers have done the trick in the intervening 19 years.

Re-watched Irreversible the other night. Nearly 20 years old now, but just as harrowing as when I first saw it (at the Odeon, of all places). Brutal, but brilliant.
