Last Film You Watched

Rewatched The Terminator last night on Netflix, don't think it's aged at all superb from start to finish. Never be another Arnie.

aside from the Conan sequel, he didn't make a bad film for about ten years

The difference in the quality on the special FX between Terminator and T2 is crazy though - then again it did have over 10x the budget of the first one! Love both films but T2 probably just edges it for me.

maybe its just me, but the effects in T2 have dated worse than in the original (in the same way as the original Star Wars still looks better than the 90s updated versions do)

Haha, do like the Rock, but hes no Arnie.

Loved Arnie, corny as hell, great one liners and you know what your right. Arnie was brilliant at being Arnie, the first Predator was and is a classic.

Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri... long overdue!!

It wasn't anything like how I expected it, although should've clocked that with Frances McDormand starring. That said, I thought it was excellent. It got better the longer it went on and had a really big heart at the centre of all the black comedy and violence. McDormand really is in a world of her own - outstanding in every sense of the word.

The Rental. Directorial debut of Dave Franco, brother of sex pest James. 2 couples rent a secluded holiday house from an oddball racist and things start to get weird as they begin to feel they are being watched. A little bit of a twist on a basic horror convention, good cast and well made. Alison Brie is in it too, which is a big plus for me personally. Would give it a 7.5 out of 10.

Also watched this one a few days ago, Booksmart. It's a coming of age type comedy directed by Olivia Wilde. The two leads were very good, but a lot of the jokes just didn't really land or felt like they had been done a hundred times before. Wasn't bad, just failed to get anything new out of the genre imo. 6/10

Quiet enjoyed it up until the last 30mins or so. Felt like it lost its originality.

This was on Film4 last night - Nice Guys.

Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling play a couple of ill matched private investigators, trying to solve the mystery death of a porn star and find a missing girl.

Ultra black comedy and they work really well together. Plus the cinematography in and around LA is spot on too.
