Last Film You Watched

Superhero movies are all about the villains, if you can't come up with decent villains the movie will suck, Marvel managed it well, DC managed it in batman but it's hard to have a bad guy take on Superman without having them need kryptonite to weaken Superman stupid plot that's happened in as far as I can see in every superman movie.

Just watched this on Netflix. A slight, but intense film, brilliantly acted by all the cast.

Must hold the record for the amount of times the N word is used!

The focus audience for this dross is mostly going to be kids and people looking for some escapism.

Most kids wont have seen many films so youre right there.

I'd put it at the level above Valhalla Rising...

Dreadful. I see the director was involved with 'monster' also...another poor film.

From her history she needs a win from somewhere lol

Its really for kids and to pass the time isnt it?

I dont mind them now...just kills a couple of hours. However, there needs to be some kind of entertainment there...

lockdown time killer

Started off well...then just became boring imo

The wife is stunning in this...old PA from billions
The excellent, Academy award winning and universally praised 'Monster'?

She also directed the original excellent Wonder Woman film

I agree with your slight about Valhalla Rising though - most of Refn's films are overrated pretentious guff

Watched the new Pixar movie "Soul" yesterday. It was pretty good, not really a kids film, as its about a Jazz musician who dies, right before the biggest performance of his life and tries to get back to earth to fulfill what he believes to be his purpose.

I'd give it 4 ot of 5. There were some funny bits in it and some interesting concepts.

Watched Citizen Kane for the second time last night. It’s not the fast paced, glitzy flip-book tale of a charismatic chap I remembered. Rather slow and sombre through out, with Kane exposed as a sad contrarian.

It all became a bit pointless once it was established that whenever he needed to Superman could just fly around the world really fast in the opposite way that it was spinning and turn back time.

Hard for a baddie to top that when you have that in your locker.

Aye, very hard to create dramatic tension for Superman. He's the fastest and strongest guy in the universe, can fly, has heat vision, super hearing, freezy breath and can see through walls. He could be having a conversation with me, fly to Australia, rip a man in half and be back before I finished a single blink. I would still be talking about why we should be playing Bernard and never know that he ducked out for a second to rip an Aussie in twain. It means that writers constantly have to invent contrived ways to put him in danger which, more often than not, have the audience asking "why doesn't he just?..."
