Last Film You Watched

I watched "It follows" and found it to be pretty great; the director really knows how to create a suspenseful and threatening mood. The scenes in midday, during sunlight, were quite effective and managed to be scary. And the soundtrack also was well integrated with the visuals. I liked it.
I also liked the one he made after it - Under the Silver Lake, although not many others did. Andrew Garfield and Riley Keough are usually worth watching, IMO.

Matthew Rhys plays a cynical journalist sent to write a profile of Tom Hanks, a too good to be true children's TV presenter. I want to describe this as the worst type of mush that ever Hollywood produced but that would gloss over the fact that this is an extremely well made and enjoyable movie ...

I thoroughly enjoyed that film.
This came up on my Twitter feed the other day

Saw Lovers Rock, one of the five films in the Small Axe anthology which is on the BBC next month. It was OK, and it's nicely filmed, but in all honesty I can't see what everyone's raving about. But I do think McQueen is a very capable director, even if he's massively overrated.

Just watched Torn Curtain, Hitchcock with Paul Newman, decent film but outside of Hitchcocks top 10 IMO.
Decent story, did have a few good scenes but I've seen Newman give much better performances, in fact I dont think he and the leading lady had chemistry as good as other couples in Hitchcock's films.
I enjoyed it though I guess.
