Just watched Under The Skin. Thought it was great but proper weird. Scarlett Johansson was absolutely brilliant in it. Sort of film you keep thinking about, reckon it will stay with me for days.
A film that feels like half a dozen different sets stuck together.
Way too long at 2hrs 10mins and despite a good cast and some great locations, manages to be quite bland.
Worth watching if you’re having trouble sleeping.

I thought the same when I watched it,felt like they sat there saying things like "Predator was good,stick a jungle in" or Commando had loads of explosions throw some in,basically any good bits from 80s action movies slenderly stitched together
It’s a shame as it had all the ingredients and cast to be a good solid action film and in the end it was just all a bit flat - like a lot of Netflix films.
It should have been like Extraction. But it wasn't.

Keep saying it lid,they have everything there but seem to mix it wrong,scripts,actors locations,everything and keep putting it together wrong,they are not awful,but none stand out
It’s a strange one as I saw Katherine Bigelow name in the directors credits and her films involving the armed forces are normally top notch.
They need to spend more money on getting it right, rather than judt throwing together a load of big names.

Thats what I mean though everything is there,take that 6 Underground,decent cast,locations,has everything,car chases,explosions,blood n guts,non stop action,but theres no substance to it,it all seems patched together,on the other hand the documentaries they do are excellent,just enough to make you wonder what the truth is in them,so a movie should be a simple task

Netflix is generally awful. They throw so much against the wall a couple inevitably stick, but it’s woeful by and large. Often in a weirdly excruciating way.
Yet the documentaries are usually brilliant and so well put together.

I guess the competition is greater for decent pictures, while documentaries arent really big money spinners. So it is easier to flash the cash to get decent docs, while the massive studios have a big advantage for films.
