Excellent. Very dark.
Really good stuff, I expected nothing less from the team that does these movies as they pretty much always deliver. Dark and gritty without being overly dark and gritty for it's own sake, great animation and fantastic voice acting.

I only had one slight criticism (other then Matt Ryan still making me cringe at times with his attempt at a scouse accent! lol ) was the ending. It was painfully obvious to anyone familiar with DC comics how it was going to end
They've used flashpoint so often at this point that it's become at bit of a joke to me. It was originally created as a way to unload twenty-five plus years of baggage in the comics, not to be used as an easy get out for writers who're to lazy to write themselves out of a story they created. Don't get me wrong it was probably justified in this particular case but I don't want the films, live action or animated to become like the Arrowverse where they use Flashpoint every other episode!

That being said, it was a great movie overall and the fight between
Trigon and Darkside
made it worth a watch all by itself.

Also, I don't know if you've watched the extras yet but you should. The Adam Strange showcase feature was a 10/10.

Watched this last night.

It's from the same director as 'The VVitch' and as expected (and as I am sure you can tell by the trailer) it's a bit of a brain twister of a film.

It's probably best described as a psychological thriller, a claustrophobic descent into madness, as the 2 main (and only) characters played by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson are stranded on a storm ravaged island (where they work as lighthouse keepers) after their relief boat fails to arrive.

Brilliant performances from both actors here. Anyone concerned with Pattinson landing the Batman role in the upcoming film should take a look at this. He's certainly moved on since his sparkly vampire days ( lol )

It's filmed in an old 'square' aspect ratio and in black and white to give it that 'old time' feel and adds to the claustrophobia of the whole thing.

I really enjoyed it, but be warned, much like The VVitch, it is a VERY slow paced movie and an intensely strange one at that, which ends leaving you with way more questions than actual answers. It is quite 'artsy' in that respect and quite a difficult watch if you're not prepared for it. - so avoid if you're not into that kind of thing.

Also watched 'Hereditary' the other day.

Thought it was OK as a stand alone horror film. But really don't understand why it was getting all the "best horror film of our generation" style reviews when it came out.
It was fine, I enjoyed it, but nothing spectacular in my opinion.

Amazing film, proper WTF is going on type stuff, Dafoe plays old people so well, he has a great face for it.

Also i liked the way it was a square, which made it even more claustrophobic IMO

Captain Ron.

When a suburban family man inherits a vintage yacht, he does not know what he is letting his family in for by hiring a dubious captain to sail it for them. Stars Kurt Russell and Martin Short. (1992).
