Except none of that necessarily makes a film good or bad. Also see Ant Man.

I don't see your point mate. I never claimed that the money made by those films in any way, shape or form increased or decreased the quality of them.

Suicide Squad made more then Man of Steel and Justice League which only further proves my point that financial gain is no way to logically measure the quality of any film. My point was that Mcbain had tried to claim that DC films were all financial failures which they clearly aren't when compared to their marvel counterpart.

12 Strong - 3/10

Gash, poor scripting and casting of a true story. Could have been so much more. I loved Lone Survivor, really gripping and you felt tense when they were under siege.

This is just American propaganda

Oh, I've seen it plenty of times before, it just never fails to astound me how good it actually is. Watching the second one on Wednesday, I'm actually excited for it even though I've seen it many times before also

I made the missus watch the first one a couple of months ago (part of the 'making her watch films she really should have seen anyway series' - including Rocky, Blade Runner, Cinema Paradiso and Moon)

She really wasn't looking forward to it but loved it - Says a lot!

lol I've done that with my better half too: 2001, Excalibur, oldboy, There will be blood, Apocalypse Now, Alien, Watership Down...and the rest. Fortunately she was mostly impressed, tho' she hated Fear & Loathing, thought Exorcist was silly and kept laughing at Arnie in the first Terminator so it wasn't all win.

Think you were a bit braver than me with the choices! I went more mainstream before the arthouse came out - Saying that, I did try Under the Skin with her and she hated it - I think it's absolute genius

I often do this with my missus too, with a lot of the films you lads mention here. Have introduced her to the Godfather, Alien, Aliens, Moon, 2001, Blade Runner, Children of Men, Glengarry Glenross, Star Wars:Rogue One, Rain Man, LA Confidential.

She's enjoyed almost all of them, though frustratingly only thought Alien was okay. Likewise, she's opened my eyes to a fair bit of good cinema, she has good taste
