Last Film You Watched

my better-looking half watched Still Alive on Amazon Video while i was working...ffs! She didn't realise I bought the DVD earlier on your recommendation. She really liked it, but I still haven't seen it.

Louis Theroux is great. He's not a social chameleon as he's always himself, yet he's good with people from all kinds of different backgrounds.

I'm with Prev on Alien 3 (it's crap, sadly), but with Navidson on Prometheus (stupid, but fun & entertaining).

Haven't seen Covenant yet...what are thee verdicts out of ten?

Probably a 4 - it's really not very good

Ready player one - 11/10 absolutely brilliant.

Oh bry

I made the missus watch the first one a couple of months ago (part of the 'making her watch films she really should have seen anyway series' - including Rocky, Blade Runner, Cinema Paradiso and Moon)

She really wasn't looking forward to it but loved it - Says a lot!

lol I've done that with my better half too: 2001, Excalibur, oldboy, There will be blood, Apocalypse Now, Alien, Watership Down...and the rest. Fortunately she was mostly impressed, tho' she hated Fear & Loathing, thought Exorcist was silly and kept laughing at Arnie in the first Terminator so it wasn't all win.

I need to put myself on this course!! :o

This was on Film4 last night and could’ve / should’ve been much better.

Fantastic cast, really slick, but all over the place, with a terrible miscasting of Kate Winslet as a Russian mob boss.

A group of bent cops and bank robbers team up to do a one off job for a Russian organised crime group.

They’re then blackmailed into doing one more job.

Average.

I watched it when it came out and thought it was average, rewatched it on Sunday aswell and it didn't improve my view, shame like you say.

Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence & Chris Pratt

This film got a panning off the critics, but I really quite enjoyed it. I don't remember what the trailers were like, but apparently they were quite different to the actual film, so I think a lot of people didn't like it because it wasn't what they were expecting. It was quite predictable, but it also had an original premise and story, rather than being a reboot/remake/sequel.

It has the makings of a very, very good film if it were to be re-edited in a different order.
